My D’s EA acceptance into Merrill, unfortunately, did not come with an invitation to join a living and learning program. That would have been an unbeatable combination for her as she considers her options next month.

We were encouraged, however, when we saw that the Accepted Student Open House agenda materials describes a CIVICUS info session for those who “were invited to join or are interested” in the program.

(1) Does this mean she can apply to CIVICUS or ask for reconsideration prior to May 1?
(2) Any feedback on the CIVICUS experience for freshmen? worthwhile to pursue now? Any feedback on the experience for freshmen not involved in one of these programs which are said to bring the size of the university back to human scale?

Thanks for any guidance or observations.
