Clackamas Town Center - under fire.

I feel sick to my stomach.

[Suspect on the loose after shots fired at Clackamas Town Center | kgw.com Portland](http://www.kgw.com/news/local/Clackamas-Town-Center-shots-fired-183076991.html)

Two people have been killed, the gunman is still on the loose and reportedly 60 shots fired, according to our local affiliate.

Wow, how awful! Prayers for all the families affected. Sometimes the internet makes it seem that there are even more troubled people everywhere because we read and see about horrific things so quickly. Can’t even imagine how scary that was to everyone.

I texted my D & she is Ok, but i was just going to go out to a mall, but now I have lost my motivation.
Reports now say shooter has been “neutralized”. So I assume that he is arrested/dead.

Am so glad your D is OK. It is very scary. I loved Oregon–lived in Eugene for 3 years. We visited Portland often. I can see why you lost interest in going to a mall–so sad that these troubled people resort to violence. Take good care of yourself!

Saw the news so sorry about this. Know this area, as an ex Oregonian. Wish these things didn’t have to happen.

I work on Sunnybrook, the next street over–we heard the sirens (and sirens, and sirens, and SIRENS) so I checked KATU’s website and saw the breaking news. I thought, “What are the chances that DS is even out of bed by this hour, much less at the mall with dad, getting me a Christmas present…hmmm…”

I called home and got the machine. Twice. Started to feel a little queasy but I am a little bit of an obsessive worrier, and I know that about myself. Called DH’s cell, and DS answered WITH LOUD SIRENS IN THE BACKGROUND. They were literally RIGHT IN FRONT of Town Center, on 82nd Drive…coming home from Best Buy, though. Hadn’t been at the mall. They said there were dozens of emergency vehicles swarming in, people running everywhere… When DS answered the phone I said “ARE YOU” and he cut in with “NO, WE’RE NOT!”

We locked our doors at work (although it sounds like the shooter was dead by that time) and it was really an eerie feeling, wondering what was going on just a short distance away. A coworker’s son’s girlfriend’s mom (yeah, I know…very Ferris Bueller) was in Macy’s and witnessed the horrible events.

I’m still a little shaken up. Emeraldkity4, glad to know your D is safe as well!

And one of DS’s friends from high school was in the movie theater at the time (the entrance for which is in the food court, just across from Macy’s). So surreal.
