Clairsonic

I’m considering purchasing Clairsonic cleansing devices for my DILs. A friend’s D loves hers. Any experiences/opinions would be welcome. Thanks!

I bought one several months ago on the recommendation of several CC members. I have very sensitive skin and was worried about harsh exfoliators. No matter how much lotion I slathered on I had dry, flaky patches. Several posters here were big fans and convinced me it was worth a try. I’m so, so glad I listened. I wish I could remember who so I could thank them! I started using the Mia2 with my regular face wash (I prefer philosophy, but aveeno is really good too). I know this sounds like a silly endorsement, but I was really amazed at the difference in my skin in just two weeks. I use the brush for sensitive skin. My DH could use a good exfoliator…I popped the original brush on and handed it to him on his way in the shower one morning. If I thought he’d use it I’d get one for him too.

The only thing I will add just as a maintenance tip I learned after I changed the brush head the first time and saw that a bit of mold had grown underneath, even though I keep it on the bathroom vanity, not in the shower. It cleaned right up with a q-tip and some hydrogen peroxide, then rinsed with water. Now every other day I’m sure to pop the scrubber head off to make sure everything has a chance to dry and it stays nice and clean under the brush head. When something is next to your skin you want to make sure it’s very clean!

edit to add: I usually shop with Ulta. Ulta and Sephora are the same price, however through ebates Ulta is currently 4% while Sephora is 10% (which can add up). Both have free shipping over $25 right now.

I am also pleased with the Clarisonic. It is effective at exfoliation, but very gentle. My skin was visibly improved after a short time - clearer, brighter. I think that using it helps skin products penetrate better. I don’t use it for every face wash, but only a few times a week.

Thank you for the maintenance tip, blueiguana.

Love mine!

Thanks! The Clairsonic site has 20% off devices today. Now, just to decide on colors!

Thebeautyplace.com has the aria cheapest at $158.99 free shipping. This deal also gives a deep cleansing brush and a 1 oz gel cleanser.

[Clarisonic Pro ARIA-White: Clarisonia Aria - White: The Beauty Place](http://www.thebeautyplace.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=tbp&Product_Code=20627)

I love my Clarisonic. I keep it in the shower so I will remember to use it every day. The charge lasts a long time – at least 3 weeks. I have the Mia which is a slightly smaller model and less expensive. I also use the brush for sensitive skin. I think it does a really good job of exfoliating which lets the serums and creams soak in better.

I think it is a great gift. I also use mine with Philosophy skin cleaner. I have the least expensive model as do my girls, we are happy with them. I bought my D’s through Sephora and mine at Ulta. I used coupons at both places. One catch is the replacement heads are expensive.

I think it’s a great gift; I love mine. I’d add a maintenance tip–not only is it important to keep the area under the brush clean, but you should replace the brush as well. I replace mine once a year.
