For the past few years, Southside Johnny has played the outdoor stage at the Stone Pony on Saturday of July 4th weekend. You don’t need a ticket to enjoy it. The AP boardwalk is packed. We can hear him at our house, however, we have friends on the last street in OG with a direct sight line to the stage from their porch - amazing concert.

Don’t forget the Super Bowl halftime show they did a few years ago!

My earliest exit was was 143, but 154 is the one I consider my “home” exit. Until we made our last move & I had to switch to Tpk exits (#9.)

I saw the post on FB yesterday about Jungleland at 6pm (which was 5pm here) and turned on the radio when leaving work to find that no Nashville station was participating. Which made me a little sad, but I already had Born to Run in the CD player so I just played it myself. Felt kind of like our first 4th of July here, when I realized that there was no equivalent version of getting stuck on the GSP on Friday nights and holidays because there was no shore to go to.

Sidenote: I was starting a new book on my Nook last night and jumped over to the store to see if there was anything new. There’s a Trending category & the #1 trending book yesterday? Big Man by Clarence Clemons.

Re: Southside Johnny - H & I saw him perform at Wolf Trap last Thursday. He still sounds good. We left early as it was pouring and we had lawn seats.

Went to Southside Johnny & Asbury Jukes last night at the Stone Pony. (actually sat between boardwalk & street in my beach chair - was closer to stage than for some concerts I’ve paid for!).

Little Steven (Van Zandt) was surprise guest and played several songs. Moving tribute to Clarence was sax solo from Jungleland.

We were at a local festival last night where they have a cover band play each night, and they did a tribute to Clarence Clemons and played Jungleland. I teared up :(
