Help! im in FPF and my housing offer was a CK triple. however, i’m also considering westminster in a quad (or possible a triple). which one should i pick? i only have till monday to do decide :/

CK looks like Hogwarts, and like Hogwarts, it’s located in the middle of nowhere. Westminster is very close to campus.

How the hell does CK look like Hogwarts? Its architecture isn’t even close to one of a castle. And it’s not exactly in the middle of nowhere. It’s just a pain to walk to and back.

it is not that much farther from campus than Unit 2 is. I dunno how a Westminster quad would be organized, but I think a CKC triple should be fairly large

CKC looks more like a spanish mission. i think it’s rather pretty. I lived in a triple this past year, and thought it was rather roomy. It’s much larger than the unit triples.

Yah CK looks NOTHING like Hogwarts, maybe you are confusing it with Bowels, which actually does look like a castle. CK kind of reminds me of the Stanford campus with the Spanish style architecture and many tall trees.

yeah, the distance is what’s really getting to me? soo what do you guys think, though? CK triple of Westminster quad?

well, CKC has a bus line that you can take to and from campus. it only runs every half hour though. I’m not familiar with westminster stuff, so i can’t help you out there.

If I can make a note about Westminster. They have private bathrooms, which I hear is bad because you don’t meet as many people as in the public bathrooms. You should live in TC I’m trying to get a bunch of FPFers to go there.

I lived in Clark Kerr as a freshman. I really enjoyed my experience there. I can’t tell you what you should do, as that is up to you. However, I didn’t mind the walk to and from campus, though it is a bit far. However, CKC is located in a really nice part of Berkeley, close to the cute stores on College Ave., with its own track, pool, tennis courts, and gym.

I have friends who were in FPF and ended up living in the private dorms. The feeling I got was that they felt isolated and “different” from other freshman. There are a lot of FPF students in CKC, so you will certainly not be alone there. Also, you are more integrated into dorm life and will get more of a “normal” first year experience.

So…I guess I would personally recommend living in the CKC triple. However, like I said, it’s really up to you and what is important to you.

I’ve heard good things about Westminister because my friend lived their last year. She had a quad with three other girls. She said it was nice and told me to live their if I didn’t get housing. I was about to live there until I got offered a dorm at CKC. I think living in the dorms will ultimately be more beneficial for making friends. Plus CKC has a lot of extra stuff like a pool, a track, and basketball courts if you’re an athletic type. In fact, a lot of athletes live at CKC, but that can be a good or bad thing I’ve heard.

I don’t know if cost is a key factor for you, but if it is, westminster is a little over $11k for a quad, while a CK triple is almsot $14k. I don’t know how I would choose either, but westminster also seems to be much closer to the units, sproul plaza, telegraph, and the RSF. tough choice :/

yeah its super tough. for those of you who know anything about westminster, do you know if it has that “dorm-y” feel to it? or is everything sort of more secluded in general?

thanks for all of your help!
