@HitMan: I was one of this year’s Clark Scholars. It went quite well, if I do say so myself. Definitely a new experience for a lot of us, and all of the projects were quite good!

@hypsmc: I am not the best expert on how prestigious/selective the program is, but it is certainly getting stronger with each year, only accepting 12 scholars a year. Regardless of its selectivity, I would argue it is definitely a rewarding and enlightening experience for anyone involved. It is, as any experience, what you make of it.

@shushugah: Well, I must say you are more ambitious than I was when I was considering Clark! 14 APs?! Goodness gracious-- make sure you squeeze in time to have petty, not-resume-building fun too ;)

The Clark Scholars Program, if I’m not mistaken, is for rising seniors and college freshmen. Like this year, we had 3 Clark Scholars who graduated from high school, and the rest of us are seniors this year. So, to answer your question, yes-- you should apply to Clark, as there is certainly no harm in applying, but I think you will have to wait until your junior year to do so. Keep focused on all the wonderful things you are doing now and when it comes to Clark application time, send in your stuff and shine :)
