Clarks Scholar Program

I am going to be a junior this coming school year and i would like to do some quality research at programs like RSI. However, i realize these programs are very difficult to get into.

The Clarks Scholar Program is one program which i think i have a decent chance of getting into. I know that for programs like these, the applications typically consist of recommendations, transcripts, extra curriculars, and personal essays. Do you guys have any advice on what i can do to boost my chances of getting in?

Also, this summer i am currently working at a molecular biology lab at the U-Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. I am doing research on Fragile X-Syndrome, a genetic disorder commonly associated with Mental Retardation. I am also working with an organization on Set Theory and Graph Theory, and will be publishing lectures and papers on the topics soon. I enjoy these activities, but do you think they look good on an application?

Yes they do look good on an application. Get a letter of recommendation from the lab leader along with some teachers.

Good luck.
