Class acts

Maybe it’s because I’ve observed so many recent class-LESS acts (Kayne West, Rep. Joe Wilson, etc.), that I’ve been struck by two very class acts in the past two days.

1) Pete Carroll’s post game interview, after his #3 ranked USC team lost to UWashington
2) The interview on Today with the Ohio couple, pregnant, implanted with an embryo not
theirs, delivering next week and will have to give baby to biological parents.

Two very different situations, both I’m sure preferring to be in a more positive situation, but not complaining; and both struck me as gracious, honorable, dignified, total class. Kind of restores the faith that there are good, decent people in the world…

Any more class acts out there?

Beyonce last week, turning over the stage to Taylor Swift to finish her acceptance speech.

The students at St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland, OH, who, upon learning that one of their fellow students had been killed in an ATV accident earlier that day, left their homecoming dance and went to the chapel and held a vigil.

Great thread idea! Thanks.

I love this website [Home - GivesMeHope - Like ■■■, but for optimists!](<a href=“Gives Me Hope”>http://www.givesmehope.com/)

great to bookmark for when you need a lift and reminder of humanity.

How about that guy who caught a foul ball and handed it to his daughter, who then threw it back onto the field? The way he handled it was priceless!

^^^ Good one! That was too cute…

Yes, she has a dad who has been on record as caring more about his kid than about money. Class act, and so cute!

Starbright: Love the positive link! Thanks!

Keeping a promise and honoring one’s word… here a class act, notwithstanding the inappropriateness.
A very touching and sad story of a Scottish soldier who wore a neon dress to his close friend’s funeral.

^ Such a touching story.

The Hall of Fame induction speeches–on Youtube–of David Robinson and John Stockton

I don’t remember the details, but yesterday I saw a tape of a High School football team allowing a player with Downs Syndrome to score a touchdown, it was touching to watch!!

Vivian Stringer - Women’s B-ball Coach (Rutgers) Hall of Fame acceptance speech. She was just amazing - talk about accepting life’s challenges with grace.

There’s a lot of press about Emily’s catch at the Phillies game, much more positive feedback then you would expect. The Phillies gave the whole family jerseys, Dad also got an autographed ball from the player who hit it, etc. It’s nice to see that good behavior can be rewarded.

“… as a father, I was very proud of the throw.”
