Class Advice for Business Major?

If there are any pre-business people out there, is it normal to take UGBA 10 in first semester of your first year? Or does it not really matter as long as it's taken before you apply for Haas? And the same for Econ and Stats.

Is it possible to take slightly easier courses the first semester of college? Or does the Haas path require me to take these courses 1st semester? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I've heard it is better to avoid UGBA 10 and Econ 1 your first semester because they are difficult and competitive. (For pre-HAAS students)

what would you suggest taking 1st semester to just get my feet wet in college courses?
(for college of letters and science that is)

I have no idea what you're interested in so I can't tell you. But the general trend seems to be Math 16a (probably the easiest amongst econ/ugba/stats/calc), a writing course, and 2 breadth classes.

Definitely take UGBA 10 and Econ 1 your first semester/year. For one, if you realize you don't like it, you'll have the option to change majors.

Also, when you apply, you want to have most of your pre-reqs done.

From experience, I don't think that UGBA 10 is too overwhelming to take in your first semester. The material is easy, you just have to stay on top of the material.

Econ 1, on the other hand, requires a lot more independent work and is curved in a weird way, which might be too much too handle for your first semester.
