I searched the forums for this question, but found no solution. Sorry if this is a basic question, but after transferring can one choose to still take some classes outside of their major? For example, can a Spanish major still take organic chemistry or is the workload too demanding for a junior transfer?
Most (if not all) college majors still require about 30 credits worth of elective classes so yes, you are still expected to take classes outside your major.
Although, classes like organic chemistry require prerequisite classes to be taken so you can’t really just sign up for it.
You are the only one who knows when a workload is too demanding for you. However, in general, organic chem is one of the hardest classes in college so, that may be demanding for anyone.
I mean it depends on the curriculum of the school, the number of courses required for your major, and what credits transferred, but i would be wholly shocked if you found yourself without opportunity to take electives or distribution credits. I mean you’ll probably be required to.
what schools are you looking at?
Thank you both for your responses.
