Class of 2011 acceptance thread

Kman, I would take the letter as a rather promising sign. Congratulations!:)

Congratulations kman!

Buckeyekid07: Hang in there, it is tough waiting. Good luck and let us know.

Hey buckeyekid, definitely hang in there. Based on your stats and info, it sounds like it could go either way. Your SAT/GPA are a little below average, but the upward trend, class schedule, and ECs will benefit you. The OOS thing I think varies from where you hail from. Anyway, good luck.

Turns out that the letter was sent in error, but today I was admitted anyway.
That said:
SAT = 2180 (710V 770M 700W (80M 9W))
GPA = anywhere from a 3.48 to a 4.18, depending on who calculates it
ECs = horsepucky by higher-level CC standards

Congrats kman! Looks like you’ll probably get into the honors program, too.

As for me…accepted into honors program, yay!
SAT-2130 (740 M, 700 W, 690 CR)
ACT-34
GPA-3.98ish unweighted
Rank-8/305

Congratulations to you both!

Congrats to the both of you.
Hopefully, those who are still awaiting responses will hear soon, as well.

What are my chances at osu? I have a 3.1 GPA and a 26 ACT. I just reicieved news that "after an initial evaluation of your application, it has been refered for a second review, a final decision will be made by the end of march. Chances?!?!

I played basketball 1-2, Soccer 1-4, captain 2, state champs 3.
I have very strong essays and three good teacher recs.

Frm the looks of it, you’ve been given a Reg Decision defer… hang in there! Good luck!

I got into the honors program at Ohio State
SAT’s: Critical Reading 610 Math 700 Writing 620 1310/1930
SAT II’s: Math 740 Chem 690

Congratulations, WallStreet. I take it that(given your screen name) you’re a future business major?;)

Congratulations, WallStreet45!

What is the best honors housing? I want to make sure that if I decide to go I am in the best spot. This is the only place I got accepted to so far out of 7. I still have to wait until April 1st for all the rest because they aren’t rolling.

Wallstreet, you might want to check out the “What’s the best Honors Housing?” thread. It’s really difficult to assign one of the Honors dorms as “best” since they vary so much.

i got accepted!

thank god not having a high sat score got me in.

Congratulations!

Hmm well I called admissions today and got a pretty sour response. I told her how some people I knew said a phone call might help speed up the process and the lady was pretty testy towards me saying that I needed to wait 8-10 weeks and not go by hearsay. Its only been 5 or 6 weeks but im getting a little weary and this was def not a good sign of things to come =[

Congratulations jmryan.

Buckeyekid, I wouldn’t take it personally or as any kind of reflection on your chances. Keep in mind that admissions is probably getting inundated with similar phone calls and they’re still probably trying to play catch-up with the massive amount of applications still in the pipeline. Considering that the application response estimate that we heard, back in November, was 10-12 weeks, I would wait until at least another 5 weeks or so. Good luck to you.

Got in January, 19th, 2007!!! GREAT WAY TO START THE YEAR OFF!! im waiting on a reply from another school but ill probably attend OSU? who here is planning on attending?

I’ve come to the realization that I will probably be going here. The money is right and I got into the honors program. I am going one last time to visit over spring break. I don’t think that any other college can beat the scholarships.
