Class of 2011 from Nepal...lets discuss here

well…that was actually supposed to be ‘dollar exchange’ instead of ‘visa exchange’ Pardon me for any confusions thus created :)

so anyone with latest updates on how to make this ‘dollar exchange stuff’ from the ministry? I know it pretty well I guess…but still want to hear it from a ‘veteran’ :D

if u want to hear it from a veteran then I guess they had a totally different procedure then. I think they first had to go to the Ministry to get the letter then go to nepal rastra bank and finally to go to the desired bank to have the dollar exchange done. but now, NRB and Ministry have made it easier for us by combining the two letters so that we can directly go to our bank to do it. i am not a veteran though :p

thanks for that one!!! :)

mention not mate. the help u offer us in this thread certainly needs to be reciprocated :)

hehe…I am flattered a lot to say the least :D

looks like its just u and me shailesh…me singing the songs of your prominence in this thread and u appreciating them in your replies :)

ToUSin007…did u apply for visa? btw, where r u going?

guys,
might be boring to u all but was little help.
i have prepared 2-3 application essays for the class of 2012. But, the one, which i like most, mentions that I have already been rejected from some colleges a year before but I have determination to wait a year more, to walk in a less travelled road but to get a high quality US education.

How would the adm. officer react?
Reject an already failed student or consider a patient student?

If only we could read the admission officers’ mind … ( or even be able to predict…)

to be honest…I guess there are better “topics” in the world to write personal essays on…

yeah there are but I have read that (on princeton review) that personnel statement is about the thing that you wanna mention to adm officer that you directly cannot say (like if someone gotta D on science while his other grades have been excellent). So, I just wrote about what I feel.

does anyone like to read it (of couse u won’t plagiarise)?

I was a acceptee of St. peter’s presidential scholarship (sometime ago, I didn’t mention the college name and many guys thought “what what” of me, I remember)
I don’t have to pay much, the location is great. But, it’s not such a great college to stand on a national ranking but particularly finer than most of the colleges that work with consultancies.

Should I wait and apply for ED in a top school or just go this fall?

Well, I would prefer NOT to mention any sort of ‘‘rejection’’ unless there is a really marvelous input afterwards/just before that…otherwise, it’s your choice…

You were an acceptee or a recipient?

Anyways, I would say, go with that College and see if you will like it. It is possible that you might not even get that scholarship from St. Peter’s next year.

yeah.I guess.buddhaforever is right…coz college applications nowadays are anything but predictable… play with what’s already there instead of venturing out for something that might eventually never come true…I would personally recommend you to play it safe…

nepali69…r u talking about St. Peter’s College at New Jersey ?

yes. he was talking about St. Peter’s at Jersey City. how much do u have to pay nepali69? does your scholarship cover living expenses as well? coz living expenses at Jersey City will be sky high for students like us.

how much we have to pay to embassy if the visa gets approved? plz, kindly reply.

$200 …
