Class of 2012 from Nepal

Megaaadi! dont ask me my scores. What i said earlier was just irony. the real thing is I have got very trite scores. I never believed it could be my score, but the sad thing is: it is

so which colleges is everyone here applying early to?
i am applying to amherst.

Hey guys and gals…this thread seems to be dead…no one is interested to post profiles, share views…class of 2011 seems really good even if its old…come on…show your enthusiasm…we have to make this thread really useful.

everyone is busy applying , must be! but really the 2011 thread contains a lot of info. i dont know wht is happening with 2012 thread

I am not applying early with those hideous SAT marks.

anyway: any idea on wht a common app essay should be like? simple or opulent? emotive or straight???

Write something that make the AO felt interesting and enjoying, but not simply jokes

i haven’t seen any talented in front of me except you so why i strongly admire you, being a girl you had proved you are the one.you don’t have to worry about your SAT mark i know you have done better but you got less than your expectation so why you are crying.but i know you must have scored more than 90% in SAT,surely you will scored better in SAT II.Best of luck
i am latent
but one of the well wisher and admirer of talented girl like you.

…:/…

so how were the scores guys…and latent. have fun in Pulchowk. I won’t demean the quality of pulchowk under any circumstance…eps after having seen Pulchowk graduates do wonders. btw, wat are u doing in pulchowk??

to everyone else, goodluck with the apps.

To all guys who gave their strong opinions on my post,

Admission process is a long process for us…
but admission officers take significantly less time to make a decision…
there are probably four, one of them the “head” who will be making the final decision…

So, essays, SATs, GPA, ECs, everything are about making impressions…
If you have anything extraordinary in anything , you can impress

A guy with fine essays and ECs alone cannot be expected to do fine in a very rigorous cirriculums.

that’s were stats stand; the colleges want academically talented students
with craetiveness , an extra benefit in most of the cases

you guys will soon know that SAT is much important for an int’l student than it is for an US student; I do not need to justify anyways.

And look at this mail from lafayette college to me,

Dear <*****>,
Thank you for contacting me. We do not have a record of your earlier request for your information, so please provide us with your full mailing address so we can send you some materials. Only the top student should consider applying ED to Lafayette. Your SAT score of 1490 is outstanding, but equally important is your transcript. We would expect outstanding marks in a rigorous cirriculum, i.e. mostly A’s. Please let me know if you have other questions. Best regards.

Skip Staats.
Associate director of admissions

Where are the other “important” Factors?

I agree that admission process is unpredictable for RD. But, it is predictable (to a extent ) for ED.

that is why ED is considered less competitive and they have higher acceptance percentages for ED

Obviously i am doing fun and study in pulchowk campus.pulchowk is one of the best college in south asia as well DV for STATE.it is proved by Ex-students.

haha…“DV for STATE”…what is that supposed to mean :D

By the way,…for all people interested in Lafayette…the associate director for international admissions is on his way to a short visit to south Asia…so be in touch with the USEF for more information…I do know that he will be in Nepal in the second/third day of November…

OK, if a person with 1490 is told so, sud a student with less than 1450 try lafayette?

where ever you are you are better one but why you are laughing at.you are not laughing at me you are laughing at yourself.
everyone dying for American Education why?I can’t understand i will try it later cause i don’t have much more money to spend on it right now.for your information Pulchowk’s syllabus belongs to North America.so i feel i am studying American Syllabus being in Nepal.you are in Lafayette it doesn’t mean that you are winner and i am looser.i just gave up cause i am poor in English.i am nepali and proud to be a nepali.Be sure i am talented one cause being poor in english i am admitted with English talented students.DV for STATE means there is easy entrance and schoolarship for technical student in US.technical student easily got work permit in US and UK,isn’t it like a DV for STATE?
i am sorry for my rubbish words but you hurt my nationality and my talent.

yes i also got this email from USEF’s yahoo group about the seminar on Lafayette. those of you considering Lafayette should definitely go there.

the program is on Nov 2. And you need to be a top student(above 70%) to attend the program.
