Class of 2012

Yes, lucky you.
Its extremely boring to have so much free time. I miss school :)

@tetris: Were you asking me for songs or 20LEGEND?

20LEGEND, but you’re welcome to contribute as well! :)

@ S33D: I will be going to University of New Orleans unless Misddlebury accepts be from waitlist…quite generous scholarship…full ride. only ned to pay around $800 per year + personal expense + insurence…job possiblities on capus too…yuppie :D

Hey jasonshah, I was just wondering did you first hear about the University of New Orleans through me ? I constantly promoted it in this site. I think the Chancellor Scholarship is a great opportunity to study in the US, a full ride is always excellent. UNO was my safety college for a while, I even sent the housing deposit! However, Trinity extended a nice offer a few days back.

Yeesh, dead thread

Oops sorry…lemme introduce myself. This is ‘Samdrick’ from India and I’m all set to spend the next four years on the hill. I used to follow your thread as well as The Indian Thread #16, initially as a ‘Guest’. But never posted cuz I was scared of getting attached to you all and ending up no where. So…It’s good to be here…Congrats to everyone on wherever you’ve decided to spend the four most important years of your life and i hope you guys njoi your College life. And I would say thanx to Ajay for acting as a cohesive force and keeping the international forum on CC alive and kicking and also Best of Luck to Tetris…I’m sure you will be goin to a very special college after two years. Thinkin’ of you makes me realize how outta focus I was…I wish I would have started plannin for college as early as you have and was as focused as you are. But ah! well! I guess Tufts isn’t that bad after all. Now that I’ve come to think of it…I guess I’m fallin in love with Tufts like I was in love with MIT for the last two years until my dreams were crushed. But then, I guess I was not as MIT ccrazy as Shruti was…I wish she could have been at MIT this fall but I’m sure she will be rokin PSU as well. And I’m really happy for polydentate too. UMich is a great college and Ann Arbor is a great place to live. I know cuz my uncle’s based in there. May be if I manage to…I can catch up with you someday in Arbor. Congo to Rister too…How many ppl have the luxury to choose between UPenn and Brown?? That’s the irony of life you got rejected at Tufts but I was accepted while I got rejected at UPenn. Yet another case of the 'in’famous Tufts Syndrome. And as for Shreya…congo on Carleton. You are really ganna be chilled there…quite literally. (Just Kidding). Once again…its great to post here in this thread…something I’ve been wanting to do for so long.

Welcome, Samdrick!

Aah Tufts - was my #1 choice for quite some time.
tries to not feel jealous :D

Good luck!

Thanks Poly!! Trust me…the feelin is mutual…cuz initially I wanted to go to UMich…bcuz of my relatives there…but then they don’t have finaid for internationals :(. May be I can catch up wid u one fine summer at Arbor…

Oh! Haha

Yep, maybe we can meet :)

Thank you Samdrick! And welcome here! :)

@ Poly

Gr8…we will surely meet :)

@Tetris

Thanx Tetris…Its gr8 to interact with you guys in person (Ok…atleast theoretically), rather than going through the thread and the posts and not commenting…even when you want to so much.

What held you back from posting for so long? Fear of rejection? Come on, everyone experiences that at some point or the other. :)

Yep. It was the fear of rejection…I thought it would have been really hard to get over CC if I got personal with you guys and that much harder to take the rejections. Was totally paranoid. But then now I’m here…The sad thing is that it seems…this thread and the Indian thread # 16 is almost dead.

Yeah, I guess the '12 people don’t really need this site any more. And I’m yet to see anyone from the class of '13/'14 on this site :(. Sure bodes for a boring couple of years, doesn’t it?

Guess so… :frowning: Pretty unfortunate… I personally feel that CC is a much better place to hang out than Orkut, Myspace and even Facebook. The last two years of your school life are so damn important. Why waste it on useless communities on orkut when you can almost get as good a counseling from Cc users than any other College counselor. But then its pretty early…most of the international applicants in 11th grade havnt even started planning for studyin abroad…and the Indians are busy choosing the right IIT coaching institutes…(kinda reminds me of my early days of 11th and 12th)…i’m sure they are goin to pik up sooner rather than later n cum 2 cc…

I realized at the beginning of 10th itself that I wanted to go abroad, and that IIT and BITS definitely weren’t for me. I’m so glad that I did that - I would be freaking out in 12th grade if I decided to be like some other classmates of mine. This early knowledge has really helped…now I can finish off standardized testing with ease!

Tell me about it…I now realize how important it is to start preparin early…I joined FIITJEE for two years classroom…Come to think of it it was a total waste of time n money…its heartening to see that nowadays ppl like you know exactly what to do at just the right tym…rather than most others who are confused right till the end…

So have you also jumped on the ‘I hate IIT’ bandwagon? :D
