Ironical, aint it?

@mitscholar
u don’t need to worry kya.i know u would get Jacobs but still go to full aid or at least tuition and Room aid to USA any safety colleges.You know why-just compare about your professional life, your loans,your easiness for transfer and all that.I am not demoralizing your thoughts to get into Jacobs ,but i know you would get into that .Still there are more than this Jacobs for you.Look before you leap.
Don’t go to what crowd said .Nepal ma ta junle aid diyo tyahi dami re.

@the guy who got into Lafayette and Oberlin both
withdraw Lafayette yaar ,soon

@sunil thapa

@gymkhana
He must be doing it on purpose surely… I can only think of it …

@gymkhana
u seems to be an A level student so makkha-scoring in English and reading in English are different terms on +2 and I.Sc.What is there ironic about mitscholars’ posts?

@gymkhana
what did you mean to say ironic.If i had to say i would but now i won’t.chip chap!!!

thanx yaar,but i lost my last one year[why put the word one? Why the redundancy ? I lost my last year means the same, and sounds far better].Now i won’t do that[again].[I’ll(though this one is excusable)]Go straight to India.I know i can do maths, i can do physics but not English [al]though i scored an[either it should be an excellent mark, or it should be excellent marks without the an] excellent marks in English itself in[should be replaced with at] College Level.What i lack is skill on reading literary powerful [*** is literary powerful??] languages,i know i have good writings[writing, singular] though.

This is what I meant by ironic. Why the attack? Because the author claims he has good writing skills. I understand that people here are talented, and good English is hardly an indicator of it. But claiming that you have something without backing it (at least in the eyes of an impartial observer), is not that good a thing to do. Plus, I was ****ed off at the endless rants about withdrawing apps from colleges by applicants who have to pay more than 15K per year. 15K…Does that sound like a joke to you guys? And most prolly every other college has finished deciding upon its acceptees by now. Withdrawing won’t help anything except reducing the happiness of that wonderful extra acceptance to the lucky few.

@gymkhana
that means u are checking my redundancies ,and errors…Mr SIR ,would you please mind checking few of my other copies too…
it’s daily use conversational languages…
don’t be so …as you are now.

@mitscholar,gymkhana,I will be in IB
What we need is PEACE!!!

Congratulations to you guys who got in. For those anxious ones still waiting to hear that magical word Accepted, all I can say is keep communicating and stay in touch. Going through these posts, it reminds me of the extremely demanding and emotionally painful period that our batch had to go through. It seems everyone is vying for the same prize. The future generation should learn from our mistakes and try to branch out and apply and experiment with less common colleges. I have seen some of you harping on the low SAT scores in CR section. Take a step back and look at the bigger picture. At the end, how you project yourself on your application matters the most. We guys (of course, I am generalizing) spent insignificant time on our application which is the only thing that reflects us as an applicant. We work hard for months to get good grades and when it comes to filling out applications, we tend to get sloppy and this is one field which, if improved would boost our chances.
This might not be applicable to you since you have already applied and you cannot make any changes to your application. But you will know this after you come here. I hope the future generation of Nepalese applicants will take some time to research about the colleges and about the kind of students they are looking for. The application should reflect that we know about the college and that it is suitable for us, instead of trying to say it in an emotional letter to the Dean of admissions. I am sure you have come across these kind of advices but these are important and should not be overlooked.
Best Wishes for all of you.

hey guys withdraw your applications from other colleges,soon kya.

@puru dai
Yes daai, yo are very correct. We spend countless time to improve our grades and scores but become careless with the essays and application. I think we should spend larger time in college research and identify our true match, a college that has philosophy similar to ours, and that college may not be an elite one (and in most cases it is not). We should be careful about the overall personality that our application has, and it should be our true reflection. I believe there is a perfect match to every applicant and everyone can get in that college.
