Class of 2013 from Nepal

@henry42:
“I do >>>appreciate<<<< that our decision may come as a disappointment and
that there is little I can say to change that.”
that is atttiiiiiiiii… or should i say - that atttiii issssssssssss…
and yeah how can anyone forget about colgate… i too have been using colgate name brand toothpaste for a long time… hope they considered that while making their decision.

LOL
You guys should have written an essay of sorts on using the toothpaste and not fearing telling anyone that “I studied from COLGATE”
LOL

@thegame
What do think of the rejection letter …above posted…I never thought colleges were that outspoken…Correct me if Im taking it in a wrong sense…

This is a blunt rejection - that’s all. Remember, they send the same letter to all their rejected applicants. They can’t possibly use the same language as their competitors, so they change their language a bit. The language, however, has nothing to do with what the adcoms actually feel. If there was hand-written note on your letter, that would have been something. Not this.

@thegame.
I am talking about all the applicants who got rejected…not just myself…

Anyways…in my view the best rejection letter would begin and End in a BOLD CAPITAL “REJECTED” …that’s all there is to know…Everything else does more harm than good.

Best would be a hand-written note saying, “I liked you but it was a group decision” signed by one of the adcoms

take a look guys…

[MIT Admissions | Blog Entry: “It’s More Than A Job”](http://www.mitadmissions.org/topics/apply/the_selection_process_application_reading_committee_and_decisions/its_more_than_a_job.shtml)

my best rejection letter would be something that tells me the exact reasons for my rejection like your ECAs suck, your scores are stupid, your essay is boring, anything at all but something specific not the usual ‘we are competitive, selective, big, fat, whatever,…’

^agreed
(10 char)

@grambling
That would be a good one too…

@grambling
You can email/call to inquire that. Colleges like a bit of effort :)

rejected from Bates,
Centre college : Unfortunately, the maximum amount
of grant assistance we could offer you at this time is $15,000 per year, and is
insufficient to meet your needs at this time. Our comprehensive fee for the
2009-2010 school year will be $39,000, plus personal expenses of $2,500.
Therefore, we are unable to offer you admission at this time and instead would
like to add your name to Centre’s waiting list for Fall Term, 2009.

If you find that your financial
circumstances have improved since you submitted your original Certificate of
Finance and that you are able to contribute at least $26,500 a year toward your
