Since you have been wailisted in Colby perhaps these might be helpful

[Colby College | Admissions & Financial Aid | Wait List FAQ’s](http://www.colby.edu/admissions_cs/ask/wait-list-faqs.cfm)

The two guys from UWC will be withdrawing from colby. Goodluck with the rest of your decisions

@gramblingscholar, henry42:
do a lot of research. dont just go to the website. look at the faculty list, see if there’s someone you’ve heard of and/or admire. write about wanting to study with that person. look up their syllabus and previous syllabi, mention what courses you would love to take and why. be honest and be earnest. make it an impassioned plea for help. really ask them for help. dont play the “you were my first choice” card, admissions people are smart people, they can see through most lies. why do you want to go to their college? why do you admire it? why them and not anyone else? talk about your circumstances, the country and its state, and why you need an admission and a scholarship. dont grovel, that’s pitiful.

if any of you want any help, PM me. i can help with your letters. sometimes you need a woman’s eyes you know? :)

@grambling and henry
to add to that… u cud ask yr GC to write a letter to the college stating yr intense interest in the college and how he believes that you are a perfect match for it… also send 'em a peer reco if you haven’t already… and yes maintain yr correspondence… its more like … don’t loose contact with yr admission counselor

@drexk and builttospill:
thank you very very much. and ill PM you guys if (or when, more likely) i need more info.

dallo306:
thanks a lot to you too but sadly the guidance counselor thing is not going to work for me (malpi has the laziest/worst GC ever. . ).

@drexk and builttospill:
thanks guys

@grambling
i am not very sure about this… but you could ask yr principal to write something like that too… a few students from bnks were/are doing that…

@bnks8

@drexk
any updates??

^thanks, dallo306, you gave me an idea there. i think i could ask for an extra teacher recommendation from one of my teachers.

^^ yeah sure… u cud do tht…
good luck!!
