Question: What are your thoughts on idea that television has turned out to isolate people instead of bringing them together?

Television is a must-have for nearly everyone. It has brought our world and our lives closer. It s a s marvel of an invention which has been one of the most common, important and essential electrical appliances of all time. It is the most east and informative device available on the planet. Whether for watching the news, movies, soaps or listening to music or even playing games, it is a much required appliance for all.

Television brings people together. It portrays an important part, for having fun; either with friends or family. Whether its watching the news with family, watching movies with friends, or even enjoying a video game with a brother or sister. Televisions seem to have the power to bring people closer, to have fun and enjoy life’s priceless moments.

Televisions may definitely seem to bring people closer on the surface level, as we tend to see it, but on the negative side, it also has a lot of bad effects. The most common effects of televisions are on school children. Researchers say that television is one of the core reasons for school children being unsuccessful in school. Not only school children, adults also tend to be more unsocial and less outgoing because of televisions. They sit at home, lying helplessly, watching television, acting like they have no work to do at all. Also, some of the movies shown on television are very violent. People try to imitate such violent behavior and crimes, which lead to devastating effects on their lives and the society. Hence, watching television also does a lot of bad.

Everything has its pros and cons. It may seem that television has a lot of negative aspects than its positive ones. But I feel that the television is more of a ‘good-guy’, rather than a ‘bad-guy’. By minimizing its effects through active prevention, the television tends to be of very good use; particularly in the field of information, entertainment and education. If it is taken care to see that it is utilized in the best way, it can prove itself to be of overwhelming importance. Therefore, televisions have turned out to be of great help to bring our world closer.
