Class of 2014 From Nepal

@ everyone
so cc is more of facebook then… everyone knows eachother…but guyz…why so soon…

ya…kyabaal is correct… these rbs students… very very tricky. they hardly open up. but guyz, we should try and find it out and post here. its not a good idea to clash among the students from same countries…(if possible) but what these rbs stds think…are they so confident of themselves. we have so many bnks stds worrying…(because they know more abt college acceptance history and all than any other students…) but guyz, u need not worry… you will get wherever u go…
by da way, who is going for haverford and vassar???

i agree with amrikanepali. its not good idea to clash with nepali stds. but if the rbs stds want to,…you should not step back.
looking at the list…why are bnks stds not eyeing really good ones? i mean, guyz, these colleges are not bad but im sure u can get into even better ones. well. thats just a suggestion. even i was looking at vassar, colgate, colby and oberlin. but not sure what to do. and i dont think my stats are bad too. guyz, what say? should we sort it out or just…
i think we should sort it out first… so colgate, oberlin, vassar and colby guyz could we have a discussion? if u like to…

hey guys…after spending 4 straight hours reading every single post on this thread, i’ve finally joined the forum…seems like everyone around here is pretty helpful…as for me:

  • Malpi (institute) ko kto, pure science stream
  • Gpa :4.0 (according to how the college assumes ur gpa…i.e. best three a-level subjects)…4 a’s and 1 b (physics moraa)
  • Got some community service stuff under my belt (4 to be exact…xceeds 100 hrs i gess…btw, is it mandatory to have these services mentioned in terms of hours??)
  • seriously lagging in work experience (but will soon intern at a bank…coz i 've always wanted to!)
  • Workin on building an impressive cv
    *SAT first attempt: 1900 (cr:550, m:640, writing:710)…next go:oct 10 (prospective improver!!!)…sat 2 on nov 7
    *now considering colby OR vassar for early decision
    any recommendations for colleges (lib arts only) would be accepted with sincere gratitude…
  • n along with gurung bro…i can info abt applicant stats from malpi (always ready to help!)
    CHEERS!!!

@everyone
WHO IS GOING FOR COLBY ???

@amrikanepali,
you shouldnt go for oberlin atleast for the simple reason that thereis sm1 already…but the indepth reason i suggest you for not to choose oberlin in your ed is because its a college of hippies. one wil have a great cultural shock there…so its not a college to be considered for ED atleast.
if you have good stats, any one of colgate, vassar and colby sounds reasonable.
however, do consider the fact that colby lies in Maine state. The temperature there gets to -40 degree celsius at times…(decoy7 told me so), so be determined in case you get accepted there.
if you have a good sat score, colgate should be for you.
2350, a sat score, from a 7oo got in there.
who knows you shall be the next??

oops sorry, the above post was intended for schofielder.

tei bhanya,
who is going for colby??

@glimpse

haha…

@kyabaal
thanks 4 the inf. but could u plez clarify what hippies are…i searched but didnt get…so its not a good college for me? is it same like reed or what?

@everyone
regarding colby…tht temperature thing is very very secondary.amerika ma its normal to have perfect heatin systems in every part of the building.according to a student in bates they even wear mini skirts inside the buildings durin winter coz the heating systems make it pperfectly favorable for those dress ups…chiso hune bhaneko class jada matra ho…tyo pani tya pugepachi feri ustai ho.so -40 celsius shud not stop anybody to apply to maine.

@glimpse
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TATTU…asti samma sigan sathai tote oani bolthyo aile ta AMRIKI college apply garne bhayo!!!

hahahahahaha

“that thereis sm1 already…but the indepth reason i suggest you for not to choose oberlin in your ed is because its a college of hippies. one wil have a great cultural shock there…so its not a college to be considered for ED atleast.”
oberlin gayera cultural shock??..in my view, jaa gayeni cultural shock huncha hola…after all, its ‘their’ land and their way of life…we are the ones who have to adjust…hippie bhandai ma sab jana hippie ta nahola…and one BIG piece of advice…no matter what others say, what you might read or see online…YOU WILL NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABT UR COLLEGE UNTIL U GET THERE!..the fact that there are hippies in any college should not deter you from applyin to any college…and speaking of that, hampshire has a reputation for drug abuse!!!

and looks like we have a lot of colby hopefuls…i am one too!!

@BLANDSTREETBLOOM,
YOU HAVE OPENED MY EYES. I WAS SO IGNORANT OF THOSE THINGS.
