Please openly use this discussion as a means of conferring your thoughts on this years admissions decisions.

For the record, when exactly do they come out?

Allegedly on April 1 at 5:00 PM EST.

Any hope they will be out on the 31st or can we safely assume it REALLY will be 5 PM EST on the first.

If the Ivies agreed to release on 1 April, no decisions will be released before 1 April.

The decisions will come out on the 1st. This is not to say that I won’t check tomorrow, just in case.

I agree. Not to create a neologism, but the Ivy League universities will not be pulling a “Stanford.”

Mifune-Are you familiar with the tv character, Sheldon Cooper, from The Big Bang Theory?

Yes, I am familiar with him. I have one of the idlest teachers imaginable for AP Physics - we have watched the program intermittently throughout the school year. Why do you ask?

not to be annoying mifune, but isn’t the phrase “creating a neologism” redundant? I apologize; it bothered me a little

Well, “neologize” is a genuine verb, but the proper association to what I was attempting to convey may not have been readily understood.

PM entomom. I am not positive if she is online any longer, but I contacted her.

I mean this in the most complimentary way when I say that some of your posts remind me of Sheldon in that they are brilliant and funny - I’d call it pedantry without guile. Plus, Sheldon finished high school in three years too :)

Indeed, I recall a particular gibe aimed at Penny – she had referenced a four-year timeframe and applied the extensive length of it to the time of a high school career. However, Leonard or Sheldon (I do not remember which) replied incredulously to the reality that she had required four years to complete it.

That was Sheldon, of course. Leonard would never say such a thing :)

mifune is a genius - a very “rare breed.” I have been “cyber stalking” (haha) mifune on CC for quite awhile… I’m not a creep or anything - really! But anyways, your insight and opinions have definitely been very helpful to a lot of people throughout the application process, mifune. :)

Oh, well I am glad that I have been a source of constructive assistance.

The Ivies better not pull a “Stanford.” I was not prepared for that.

“Conferring” our thoughts? Elaborate please on your choice of “confer?”

^When one is being grandiloquent, word choice is usually not the first consideration: impressiveness is. ;)

^ Oh SNAP.
