even i had to pay $90+ for sats… they charge $26 extra in india and pakistan dont know why… i thought things were cheaper in india… :D

I like Macbeth too.
I like books that make me sad…or make me feel anything, really.

I found a bookstore today that stocks Pushkin and has an entire SECTION for Russian history. My life is now complete.

Welcome, donod! We seem to getting loads of Nepalis in this thread lately.

Hello donod!

@quasi… maybe because neplali thread is getting a bit booring…

@tetrisfan… hi…

so where are u guys from n where r u heading… :D

n sorry but i have never read mc beth or anything to do with shakes-sphere… last time i heard his name was in 10th “Julius Ceasar”- Et tu Brute!!! lol…

n didnt take english for A levels… ![]()
so cant be part of discussion… :(

i fear that “something is rotten in the state of [my heart].”
okay. thats was lame. let me off, im sad.
i didnt even study hamlet. it was the “all the world’s a stage, and men and women merely players” one for me. i used to think it was inspirational and disheartening at the same time. now its just disillusioning.
im sad about no 800s in maths1, FAILS in literature, shoddy SAT1, sad transcript, no-hope for my hsc, and no point to yale-apping.
sora is ebullient no more… :(

SORA! Optimism is the stronghold of this thread.

/spontaneous philosophic sayings

No, seriously. RELAX. Act drunk. What should happen WILL happen. You’ve given it your best shot, and that’s all that’s in your hands :).

sora, i hope you don’t mind me barging in on your misery but i’m sad too. i’m faaar from an 800 in math. i can’t even reach a 600 in SAT I
:(

on a more optimistic note, i think the “beauty” of american colleges is that there’s more to admissions than just stats and grades so don’t lose hope just yet!!

All else fails, we still have that CC backpacking trip across Europe to look forward to! :)

um… im also giving maths 1… btw im giving maths2 and bio m as well… am not aiming for anything… havent started preparation yet… so dont know how bad im… will finish bio today somehow-thats what i tell everyday… :(

Yeah, sora! Go hang out with your friends, drink lots of Coke, dance around to Cobra Starship, shriek a lot, bounce around, and DON’T THINK ABOUT COLLEGE. YOU WILL GO SOMEWHERE GREAT, never mind where. We have our whole lives to look forward to - let’s not let something stupid like whether we go to Yale or Iowa State for undergrad ruin that. Because it’s not where we go, it’s what we do there. Cliche, but so true. Besides, as October’s Child said, you never know what’s going to happen.

And there’s always grad school. And work. And if you end up as a hobo (which OBVIOUSLY YOU’RE NOT GOING TO), the rest of us will make sure you get fed and clothed, because WE’RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER!!! :D

Haha donod, I’ve yet to start prepping for USH. I was going to today, but my school exams finished and I ended up wandering all over town with my friends, doing really really stupid things. Oh well. Tomorrow is another day!

Hellz yes to the CC backpacking trip and the Great CC Meetup in fall 2010 :)

^In which there will be hair-licking, me jumping at and hugging people (because I’m canine like that), and, hopefully, food.

I will ensure that there’s food.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/yale-university/804736-my-experience-10-weeks-later.html

Yay! Pepsi, too? :D

I prefer Coke myself. But we can hit up a Walmart and get both :D.

Yippeeeeeeeeeeee.

Oh and we certainly need tons and tons of Cherry Garcia. Quasi, you’re officially in charge of that.

I don’t want to be in charge of ice-cream. I’m gonna be in charge of getting everyone there instead, and also of regulating the hair-licking contest. AND maybe the ice-cream too, but only if I can get some Rocky Road as well.

Deal. All ice cream flavors are welcome, but Cherry Garcia and Rocky Road must compulsorily be present.
