Class of 2014!

No, I like mine.

He and my mom are so weird. They’re convinced I met guys at my test center because apparently two ‘quite handsome’ boys were ‘ogling intently’ when they dropped me off. LIKE HELLO, I WAS TAKING THE MOST IMPORTANT TEST EVER. And my mom got me drunk once. She lied and said it was not alcoholic and I ended up doing the cockroach dance with her across a Hong Kong ship deck.

I love them though. :)

Hello, I’m back and Holy spaghetti! I just realized I hadn’t submitted my Princeton fin aid app, and the deadline was 15th! I guess I automatically assumed that I was finished with Princeton when they sent me the “you’re complete” email.
What should I do? Send the app now and cross my fingers? Should I contact them?

You told me about the drunk thing once and I found it hilarious! :D

Just send it Bilgy, Middlebury took one of my supplements late. They definitely haven’t gotten around to assimilating all finaid apps yet, I think.

@Bilguun : Deadline is february 1st. They recommend you to get it in by the 15th.

Hi to the new girl!!

Quasi : sigh, my dad is driving me insane, i can’t wait to get out of here. I’ll miss my mom though. Lol I’m so mean. But yeah, no, my dad. Not an easy person. Very nice, but hard to talk to.

EDIT : YOU NEVER TOLD ME YOU APPLIED TO MIDDLEBURY!! YAY one more chance to be in the same college :D

EDIT 2 : Middlebury extended their Dec 15 supplement deadline because many people forgot to send. So it doesn’t mean that will work necessarily for other schools. Although I still haven’t sent some stuff to Bates and they said, its ok, feb 1st deadline.

Oh, so’s my dad. He doesn’t talk. Like, LITERALLY, rarely says a word. But he has his moments of jokingniceness.

I had a dream about you last night! You were eating candy floss. (Lol yeah, that’s basically the extent of your involvement in the dream.)

Thanks gappy, I saw the number “15” and panicked. lol. sleep deprivation.

Go sleep! FA apps can wait.

I got 4 hours of sleep last night instead of the all-nighter I promised myself. Lol I lack willpower.

I love candy floss!

You probably did better, Quasi, than if you had not slept a wink. Studies have proven this. But I normally ignore those studies.

The ball for FA apps are now in my father’s court. He has to do the stuff.

Yeah, I probably did. But still.

Woohoo gappy’s daddy.

How involved were your parents in the rest of the app process?

Mine? Not at alllllllllll. They just wanted me to apply to Harvard and not to Columbia, and I obeyed.

Other than that our app-related interactions consisted of “Email me your credit card number” and “Tell me if you need more.”

@tetris : nada. zilch. zero.

Haha, but my dad was extremely kind enough to fly us both to US and have a one-week long road trip to check out colleges. Granted, it was a holiday for him as well but still. It was very nice of him.

They have no idea what is what and they kept yelling at me for staying up late to finish my apps. :(

EDIT : HAHA YES. It consisted of oh, you’re in the 80th percentile for Subject test? That’s good. (um, no its not) and Appa, I need your credit card and my mom saying stop applying la. That’s about the extent of it.

I went to bed when it was 2 hours 46 minutes until the exam.

Lol, mine were way less involved than they’d have liked to be. I refused to show them my essays and I picked out my list on my own. I just kept bugging my dad for his credit card too, lol.

Lawl Bilgy why’d you bother?

tetris: Haha I had that involvement problem with my sis.

In addition to paying kilodollars for app stuff, my parents have been very supportive but they didn’t know how to help, so I ended up doing everything.

Yeah, when I see all the parents on CC being so involved, I’m kinda jealous, cause I would have loved to do less work. But then again, its quite nice being independent.

@Quasi : Why are you everywhere, even that thread about White House? Lol.

I have this funny, deeply-ingrained belief that I have to get a good night’s sleep before an exam. I’d have felt terribly guilty had I not slept at all.
