Class of 2014!

tetris, did you take GCE A-levels?

No, I’m in an Indian board.

wow 800 on chem that’s great tetris
my may SAT was 1900 and yeah i know it’s terrible
i’m taking Chem in June also and yea it’s much easier than the thing we’re learning now. but on the other hand we have to score it higher or it’ll be a shame ha
so what school will you guys apply to ?

I’m planning to apply to:
Berkeley
UCLA
McGill
Colorado

In order of selectivity and preference.

wow same here for Berkeley and UCLA

I’m an international student, but I’m also a US Citizen. I’m currently living in Sudan and will also be part of the class of 2014. Plan on applying to mainly California colleges, since I was born and raised there. UCLA, Berkley, Stanford, USC, and then like, probably two other UC schools (I do need some safe schools haha). I’ll also apply to American University in DC and a few Ivy Leagues and MIT, though I don’t think my chances of getting into an Ivy League are that high. :stuck_out_tongue: Maybe a Canadian uni too?

Welcome aboard, MagicalMalik( Intially I read it MagicalMilk :stuck_out_tongue: )

Are u a dual citizen Or What??

I have about 15 colleges on my list, lol. I can’t think of any I wouldn’t be really excited to attend, either, save maybe some of my safeties and Duke.

what are you guys’ safety though?
i saw people applying for the Ivy school every where and it’s kinda scary XD
as for my safety it would possibly be UCSB or U.Mich
and 15 colleges wow
i’ve only named about 7 now
so how do you select your schools? rank? web? or maybe you get to make a campus tour or something?

^^MATCH between you and the School.
Websites will be of great help…Campus tour is not always possible for International students…You can sign up for viewbooks…And not to forget CC…

My safeties are Illinois Institute of Technology, Grinnell, and Colgate. The former actually has quite a nice campus. No, really :D.

I can’t afford to visit colleges, at least not this year, so I’m selecting my schools by first looking at the rankings of top schools, then seeing whether they offer much FA to internationals, and finally looking them up on Wikipedia and so forth. I doubt I’m going to add or remove more than a few colleges from my list before I apply.

Actually, I too have not decided on my college list…Can you guys help me?

I don’t know if this is the right thing to do… but…but…

Some facts about me:

I think I am a born engineer…but I love visual arts(esp Painting) and I am even attracted to some “Psychology stuff”…I know its an unusual blend but I read a lot of Philosophy books…and I do a lil bit of “Music”… not much into sports( though a little “soccer” and “badminton”)

STATS:
GPA: Will be around 3.8
SAT Subject (IIC, Physics, Chem):800,800,800
SAT I: Crap(Retaking it on OCT)…Hopefully expecting a lot of improvement!
ECs: Decent
Awards: Some at school and regional level.
And I need a lot of Financial aid :(

I would love to do “arts” but I can’t live without engineering (till date)…But I’m sure I need to figure out what’s best for me…And not to forget financial aid…
I am sure to apply to 5 colleges but I need more…(I think I will be applying to about 12-14)
Any suggestions?

What’s your first subject test (IIC = ?) ?
Where are you comin from ? Do you intend to apply early ?

IIC=Maths Level II

Yes, I intend to apply early…though not sure about where to apply Early…And guys could you name some colleges which offer EA or SCEA (Apart from Stanford and Yale) …/???/

I comin from “The Womb” :D

Chicago and Georgetown offer EA.

My list is sort of finalized, but I’m not gonna make it solid till like…October or something :S

Hey, are georgetown and chicago uni competitive colleges? And do they provide full rides to internationals?

what’s EA?

i don’t think there’s such thing about competitive or not Gurung, every college has its value that attract different student. it’s just the environment that stimulate us to get better.

have you considered UCB lluvia:con:fuego? it can be your safety i suppose if you score that high and i know that they actually have a wide variety of art events so i think this might interest you
and by the way where do you come from? i was thinking Spain or Mexico so am i any close?

EA is Early Action.
And UCB…no safety.

fuego is definitely Nepali :p

Gtown and Chicago are extremely competitive. Gtown is needblind to internationals, if I remember right. Check their website though.
