That’s ok, we’re awesome enough to compensate for their absence ;)

Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeead the edit!

My father thinks Oscar Wilde wins.

EDIT: No! No he says Iggy Pop.

I vote for either Cicero or Oscar Wilde.

I am rooting for Cicero too. He must be the funniest person ever. I love translating his speeches! Makes Latin class actually fun. Whole lot better than the Oedipus Rex (needless to say I stopped Ancient Greek) –> It is an interesting story though.

I read Oedipus Rex in Engish, haha. Don’t suppose it counts.

I’ve never read Cicero.

Ooh, I am just the ultimate geek, and I go to an old stuffy school with teachers smoking pipes and old mouldy books and obsolete courses, which is actually pretty cool.

Ancient Greek was pretty cool I guess… Reading Homer and things. But scrutinizing a text sort of ruins its appeal. I’ve read some Plato in Dutch and English and actually prefered it above the original Greek. It definitely does count!

You should read some Cicero, I am translating the Pro Caelio now, it is a speech in defense of Caelius, some Roman upper class socialite and the whole text is nothing like a lawyers’ defense speech, it are just rumours about other Romans and really really funny. Although, it might be more entertaining when you know a lot of the background information.

I’m being boring right?

EDIT: Everyone always stops me when I start discussions or random academic rants, so I am not insulted.
XD

I fail at languages other than English.

Hahaha, I love learning foreign languages! I do fail miserably when it comes to motions physics (like Newton laws and everything, I do like astrophysics), it isn’t even hard, but just sooo awfully BORING.

It DOES sound cool. No school her offers it though. Oh wells, college!

GB, I is jealous of all the awesome geek stuff you get to do.

Edit: I love languages too!

Boooooooooo physics

Boooooooooooo math

Yeah, it is pretty fun. All our other courses are pretty much the regular courses any school in the world offers though. Except we have a core, so not too much choice. I do some sort of pre-college program which is a lot more fun; there we really, really do the most random things ever. I took a class on the history of pop music and did weird nanotechnology things. That is why I really want to do the liberal arts thing.

Oh god, this sounds like a badly written college application essay.

History of pop music!

Yeah! It was so much fun! Our teacher was like 66 and actually discovered ABBA (I am not sure if that did the world any good) and was really, really the epithome of an absent-minded professor with huge glasses and tweed suits.

EDIT: Oooh! Almost lost my CC-virginity! Senior memberrrr is looming!

Dude, your education system sounds SO college-y.

21 posts to go!

ABBA!

10char

^Helloo everyone,

Okay im bored at school with nothing to do, anyway. Had my french listening today, went great, so I’m happy. Whats up with you all?

I was wondering, did your school counselor write ANOTHER rec on the midyear report

Greetz

Julio the dancing cat

okay that was random
