And parents are like that all the time. My parents would hate to see me go (Who else is there to do the dishes?! hahaha) and the idea that I’d be that far away almost brings my mother to tears (I feel bad.). But they also hope I get in (although they’d prefer if I go to the UK…) and are rooting for me (although they have no clue how everything works etc.). I am sure the same goes for your father. Just wait it out.

My parents were really against the idea at first. They were all “You’ll be too young to be on your own!” But I was able to talk them into it gradually…and I got family/friends on my side too. It will all work out in the end. If it doesn’t work out, it’s not the end!

Are you guys also gradually realizing that you are actually LEAVING next year? Quite possibly for good? It is pretty strange in a way.

Seven months!

No but really! Only like 28 weeks! And think of how fast a week goes by! And then you will move halfway across the globe; never really live at home, leave your family and friends…

Okay. I am being dramatic.

That just got me depressed :(

My dad voiced the same concerns as guilty did in post 9209

Well, independence is one of the reasons you wanna go to the US, right?

J.D SALINGER DIED???

pulls out every article of black clothing in wardrobe and weeps

I know! It is really bad!!! He was 91 though
Such a shame he was so secluded and didn’t write more books.

All you guys who’ve only read Catcher in the Rye, I recommend Franny and Zoeey too! :)

I don’t like Franny and Zooey much cause I don’t like the subject matter much, but yeah, worth a try!

Hmm… I liked it.

Ahahaahahhahaahwaaaw. I have a party right now.
But I aaaam tired… I want to watch televisiooooon and read and work on my thesis and wear pyjamasssss.

Was fun.

Now it is homework MARATHON time.

Homework marathon? Ouch.

Yeah well basically I have to write around 30 pages before Tuesday morning.

You know, considering how I’ve had to do practically NO writing over the past…err…14 years, that actually puts you in good stead for the future.

/cringes
