Class of 2014

Super congrats to everyoe who has already been accepted… .that is AMAZING!

humchun, that’s wonderful that you’re going exactly where you want to go… BoCo is such a wonderful school, I’m sure you’ll have an amazing experience there.

thanks maranda! BoCo is perfect. The three people I know who have been accepted all seem pretty definite that this is the place to be! I cannot wait to get down to business.

I really cant wait to meet the rest of my classmates. I will be praying for you girl! stay faithful :D

Thank you so much  I really appreciate it!

ha ha you got accepted to CCM, right? I’m sure they don’t get many people turning down acceptances there… I don’t blame you on choosing BoCo over CCM though— it’s a safer city ( I live about 40 minutes from CCM… there’s a lot of crime in Cincinnati), and I’m sure there isn’t nearly as much tension between the students… AND students are given more opportunities… AND you’re closer to big theater areas

So where else did you get accepted?

You know I heard alot about crime and stuff from people who visited/attend the school but that really didnt keep me away! I would go to school in Compton if the school was as good as BoCo but maybe thats just me. I love CCM especially there DRAMA program…it is seriously NEXT LEVEL. I actually applied and scheduled auditions for Point Park(got accepted academically), CMU and OCU but after I got in and spent a lot of time talking to the faculty, students and mr. google doing research on cirriculum and philosophy I was sold. When I got the official news I canceled the rest of my auditions…so i guess I only auditioned for CCM and BoCo!

message me. we should be facebook buddies :D

get et!,

D

does anyone know how long it’ll be until be until they’ll send out letters/ e-mails/calls… or whatever? I heard “around the end of march” but that could be any time within the next 2 weeks… I know in the past they have been sent out April 1st, but the Dance instructor at my audition said they were going to send them out earlier. Guess I’m just looking for a ray of hope at the momment… I just got my 5th and 6th rejection letters yesterday–one of which to the school I got waitlisted at and was sooo set on. I’ve gotten 1 acceptance so far to one of my backups… I know I’ll be happy there, but i don’t feel that It’s the best place for me. ( Shorter college… it’s a great school…it’s known for vocal performance and opera though… not so much MT, but it’s a good school.) I’m still waiting to hear from BoCo, Webster, CMU, and Uarts ( which I still need to send in my video audition for)

My voice teacher told me that every student she’s ever had who has auditioned at BoCo has gotten to accepted… I know that doesn’t mean anything on my part, but I guess it’s giving me a little bit of hope that I might have a chance, you know?

How many students do they accept for MT now… I know it used to be around 100, but I think that i heard it went down to 50 or 25… or is it still 100?

Between 40 - 55 for a freshman class out of 60 initial acceptances. Then go to the wait list. Good Luck

I have heard this earlier thing too… Has anyone talked to them and confirmed when they will send them out?

My guess is that it will be the end of this week. Good luck to all.

I sure hope so, ha ha!

I tried to call yesterday, but I think they were closed for the night, so I’ll try again today

Maybe I was thinking 25, cause like… 25 girls, 25 guys? Who knows? That’s strange that it changed though… just last when I visited the school my guide told me that they normally accept 100 people… kinda sucks that it’s dropped, but it’s probably for the better education wise.

Thanks!

Thanks for always being awesome beenthereMTdad. Much appreciated. I really hope it is by the end of this week!

MTdad:

Some have told us that BoCo will send an email at 5:00 pm on the last Friday of the month with a link that you can go to for your admission decision. Do you know if that’s what they will do this year again? Or, how will we be notified?

Some have said that BoCo sends an email at 5:00 pm on the last Friday with a link that you can go to for your admission decision. Do you know if that’s the way they will do it this year again? or, how they will let us know?

Hi Dom. Hang in there kid it will not be long now.

This is admissions big week with the students off on break. It will depend on how far along they are in the process. By now all the selections have been made and it is just a matter of formalizing the package.

Regarding class size… their ideal size has always been 45 - 55 incoming freshman. There used to be a 2/1 ratio of acceptances and enrollment. One year they sent out 100 acceptances and almost all accepted (75 to be exact). Since then they send out about 60, wait to hear then go to their wait list.

Hey just waiting! I was talking to admissions today and they said that “Your formal acceptance letter will be emailed to you no later than April 1st, and mailed to you the week of April 5th”. So i guess the April 1st date is still standing. It won’t be long now…(In the Heights, anyone?)

It is sort of funny but everyone is told something different from BOCO! There are a few versions here on this thread.

When my D got in several years ago, it was by snail mail around April 1.

One of my current students was told by BOCO that notification would be on or around March 23.

Who knows then? :)

The problem stems from Boco “trying” to get things done earlier. Which they say every year. There was “Talk” that they were going to send out all the early rejections but that never happened either.

They have a “firm” deadline of before April 1st which can mean almost anything. As you can imagine, the conservatory is run on the lean side when it comes to admissions. Hang in there people.

It is best to conclude…“It won’t be long now!” :D

ha ha sooo… assume April 1st, and if it comes earlier it’ll be a nice little happy suprise (…or a sad suprise… either way, be optomistic.)

Thanks so much for calling, Dom! Much appreciated!!!

And thank you BeenThereMTDad!

CC really eases all this waiting stress @__@ for sure!
