I just thought I would start an official thread for people who are auditioning/ been accepted so we can get to know each other!! This can be a place for questions, comments, and stories about your experience with the Boston Conservatory this audition season and hopefully the place where we will all be able to declare our official acceptances.

I was accepted right after my audition in Chicago. I still have to wait for all my other school’s decisions before I can do anything, but as of now, BoCo is my dream school and am planning on going. Was anyone else told of their acceptance the day of their audition?

My daughter auditioned in Chicago. Any idea when she might hear? Makes me nervous that some were accepted on the spot. Help calm this nervous dad, please.

Hahahaha when I read that I pretty much freaked out too! I know in the past they’ve waited until the end of March for most people with a few acceptions, but I don’t knw if that’s how it still goes

I got accepted at my audition and am definetly going…I got into some good schools but this is THE BEST for me.

As far as being nervous haymal, as long as she did her best and felt good about it all she needs to do is be confident in the good work she presented and wait. I hope we will be going to school together in the fall.

I cant wait to start school, GET ME OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL NOW!!!

congrats EMH and the other boy who got accepted!!! 2014 is taking it to another level.

There will be an “effort” made to get the definite no’s out as soon as possible (next few weeks). That is a change in policy beginning this year. There are a few students that are accepted on the spot. They are usually the 10 or 15 students that EVERYONE wants and the competition for those few is fierce. If a school lands 5 of those students, they are overjoyed.

Hearing about on the spot acceptances should discourage no one. You could be as many as 200 students on the yes check list. This is where you need to stand out in voice, acting or dancing.

This was straight from the MT director’s lips but, like i mentioned before, there would be an “effort” to let the definite no’s know sooner. This would be a change in their policy.

They usually send them out via e-mail just after 5 PM on the last Friday in March. We were later told this is so no one can call them to question why they were not accepted until the following Monday. This was true 2 years ago but maybe they have changed.
