@greatfallsmom I think I must need to have a minimum number of posts, so can’t PM. I CAN reassure you that my daughter and your son are not at the same school, as her school is all girls. So, breathe easy - he does not need to worry about receiving the same email! I’m going to ask my daughter to reach out today to her friend with a lower score who is a SF, so I can give you definitive information. Will post as soon as I hear anything.

You are a wonderful person, @mdmommy4 ! I think a PP was correct that if DC is not higher than 223, no other state would be either. Thanks so much in any event!

@aznsarose homeschool ‘principal’ in Indiana . d got a 220 and we got the letter. Your principal likely got one for you. You are definitely in with a 223–congratulations! Sometimes the schools read the letter wrong and think they can’t tell the students until the 10th–this is incorrect. It can’t be announced to the 10th but the NMSF are to be told.

My son is in with a 213 in Michigan via his guidance counselor yesterday who called him down to the office to give him the news. Of course, he didn’t tell me about it until bed time!

Congratulations to all the new posters reporting-in! And thank you for taking the time to post info that will be helpful to others.

SE Boarding Schools <= 218, school counselor

Commended (national cutoff) = 201

My daughter has 215 in michigan. Principal told me that he has not received anything. He is the new principal as of August 1st of the year. I have no faith in him. The kids have said that he hides in his office all day.

@UTBGSUMOM…Did you see the post from @GoAskDad about HS being able to contact NMSC on Sep 9th? If he really hasn’t seen anything by now, it’s possible that it got lost in the Postal system…or in the paperwork pile in the school itself. Since we “unofficially know” the MI cutoff is no higher than 213, you could stop by the school on Tuesday and see if he’s willing to call NMSC. If not, call NMSC Wednesday to confirm your D’s status and then head to the school armed with the confirmation.

I know it’s hard to show restraint…but remember “polite but not pushy”.

Nothing to report from WV yet. I’ve asked my school counselor several times if she’s heard anything, but there’s still no news. I am obviously very frustrated. I am the only one at my school with a borderline score (I scored 203 which was the WV cutoff last year). Haven’t seen any other posts by people from WV, so I have no idea what the situation is for me.

@wolverine86… I am going to wait until the 9th and ask him again, if nothing I will call NMSC on Wednesday and talk to them. Thanks for help.

@piccplayer23 The state cutoffs have been going down, so there’s a very good chance you’ll make it! Stay positive

@piccplayer23 None of the states have gone up, and LA who has had the same cut off the last 3 years (even last year when the rest of us experienced a size able jump) went down a point this year, so if you were on the number last year you are probably a SF!

@piccplayer23 Another way to look at it is that, in the last 5 years of data, WV has not been more than 2 points over the Commended score so your 203 looks promising.

NMSC sent out emails today to parents to fill out online parental consent forms. So…if your son/daughter supplied a valid email address when they filled out their test the notice will be there.

@DiWantsToTravel my son did provide an email, and it sounded like his 223 would make SF in DC from a previous poster, but we didn’t get an email today. Did others get one who actually got notified that their children were SF? How did you find out they would be sending them out today versus Sep 10th? Ok, this is now officially depressing because I was beginning to believe the chart :(

My guess is that the people who have been notified and signed in already are the ones getting emails. They didn’t ask for parent’s emails on the test.

No email from NMSC. @DiWantsToTravel, not sure what email you are referring to, but this is my 3rd time with NM and there is no email at this point for most of us. I think that perhaps after the student logs in with his/her id number, the parents get an email. Is that your situation? I seem to remember that with my class of 2012 son. (None of the app was online for my class of 2010 son so I know there was no email that year). Anyway, no one panic! I don’t think you get any info to fill out the online forms until after your son or daughter starts the app process.

Can anyone confirm that? If you know from your child’s score that they will definitely be a SF but haven’t gotten the official letter or notification from your child’s school, did you still get an email?

Agree with jbourne. Yesterday my kid signed in and gave them my email address. I received an email immediately after that.
