List for Vermont

<a href=“National Merit semi-finalists named for Vermont”>http://www.burlingtonfreepress.com/story/news/local/2014/09/10/national-merit-scholars-education-sat-psat-vermont/15384321/

A large list from New Jersey

<a href=“Semifinalists named in 2015 National Merit Scholarship Program”>http://www.mycentraljersey.com/story/news/local/2014/09/10/national-merit-scholarship-semifinalists-central-jersey/15347487/

Called NMSC to confirm my daughter was on the commended status list with a 205 (Ohio). She told me the commended letters will be mailed to principals on September 16th. Sigh of relief to know it is official! Should be looking at a full ride to Wright State University about an hour from where we live.

http://www.wright.edu/raider-connect/financial-aid/scholarships/wright-state-university-commended-0

I’m still waiting for a complete names list by state because in addition to doing the name check for kids I’m related to or know, it’s fun to see the counts by the different schools. While looking at one of last year’s lists (only ones I can find now) I noticed little 3-digit numbers to the left of the names. They are (obviously) not unique and “000” and “999” are frequent. What do these mean?

You will probably never get the FULL list unless you know a school principal/GC.

The official announcement is based on individual states. I have seen as many as 20 or so in the past that were accessible by googling.

The three digit numbers indicate possible career choices based on the surveys

Someone earlier said it is a code for intended major. @Calculemus‌

don’t know if this has been previously posted on this very long thread, “best public universities with NM funding”: http://publicuniversityhonors.com/2013/04/20/best-major-universities-for-national-merit-scholarship-funding/

FWIW, I received an email this morning asking me for parental consent for my son to continue in the competition. For any of you still looking for confirmation one way or the other, perhaps this is relevant.

Schools participating in NMSF you may be interested in:

Boston University, Emory University, George Washington University, Northwestern University, University of Chicago, Vanderbilt University

does anyone know what the PSAT score distribution is? i.e. how many got a 240, 239, 238, etc.?

Here is the MD list <a href=“Payday Loans Online | Paycheck Loans and Quick Cash Advances”>Payday Loans Online | Paycheck Loans and Quick Cash Advances;

That’s just the list for Montgomery County

@tew3bud‌ Thanks for catching that!

Here’s a link to the Fairfax County Public Schools list in Virginia. 205 semi-finalists from the county, from 19 schools. 129 of the 205 are from the regional governor’s school, Thomas Jefferson High School: http://commweb.fcps.edu/newsreleases/newsrelease.cfm?newsid=2605

If anyone sees one for DC and can post it that would be appreciated!

Because my guidance counselor told me that the score for Texas was cutoff at 219. Could he be mistaken or referring to last year?

Anybody has VA full list??? @-)

@chairmankyle…Yes, the cutoff scores on that list have been verified. Texas cutoff this year is 218. If you scored 218 or higher as a junior and your school has not contacted you about Semifinalist status, you need to call NMSC and they will confirm your status for you.
