***Class Of 2015 NMSF Qualifying Scores***

@onlythebest13‌ like the other poster said - there are tons of scholarships that are based on ACT or SAT and GPA scores. Btw I do have a '15er but he is not close to NMSF.

No news today! Uugh.

It’s not too late, @luvmygirls. Maybe someone will arrive home from work later today and check their mail, and,…………………….

Sadly, I think Luv is referring to HER mailbox, which means MY hope as well. Maybe tomorrow!!! Still holding out hope for Iowa, which came in first last year.

Yes, I was talking about me. I’m still holding out hope for someone else!

I have checked at least 1000 times too. On the bubble with a 209 in Michigan!

Well, it’s 4:23 in Texas, so I assume most homeschooling parents have checked their mail already. Perhaps they are celebrating an incredibly low cutoff score and will post later, when the party dies down. If not, then there’s always tomorrow’s mail. With the 3 day weekend, the chance of the non-homeschool kids hearing anything before Tuesday looks slim. But that won’t keep me from checking obsessively all weekend.

They really sent the letters out on Tuesday? I’m surprised that even rock-bottom cheapo bulk mail is this slow.

Rock-bottom cheap mail was this slow last year, according to their similar thread. Someone even googled it and posted a 4-8 business day rate. Tuesday was a big day, though a few lucky states had some insight (maybe not final) by Saturday. And truth be told, the ONE Friday poster actually posted on Saturday something like “My GC told me yesterday…”

Patience folks! The end is near!!!

This is better than watching Presidential election returns! Seriously, shame on them for dragging this out–and shame on us for putting this much pressure on our children. (Yet I wait with bated breath…just on the cusp or below here in NY.)

According to last year’s postings, some parents heard the news from their principals on Friday (their Saturday posts indicated that they heard it YESTERDAY). As Barfly mentioned, those who received the good news might be too busy celebrating to leave a note here. It seems that Tuesday will be a big day!

Homeschooler in TX - nothing in our mail today. It’s driving me crazy! BUT - I did hear through the grapevine last fall that scores in TX were a little bit lower than the year before, when the SF cutoff was 219. This info came from the testing coordinator at the HS my daughter would go to, where she took the test. My dd is on the bubble, so we’re hoping for a point or two lower!

@4blessings, I see it’s your first post! Welcome to our little group of highly stressed parents and students, many of whom are close enough to make NMSF but not high enough to be confident they will! I hope you’ll get something in tomorrow’s mail. So your student is on the bubble with mine? Good luck!

As for the grapevine news from last fall, we now have the facts from the state data that was released. Texas had over 10,000 more test takers this year, with a higher number of high scorers in the Math section, and fewer high scorers in the other sections, as compared with the previous year. I don’t know how to interpret that info, so I just repeat it here periodically in the hope that someone else will know what it means.

I have been reviewing this post quietly and anxiously awaiting some clue as to the cutoff for Texas. Like many, I have one on the bubble. I find myself reviewing all the data and am hopeful. I look forward to seeing some numbers reported soon. Very grateful for this discussion board!

Even though I am new to this site I can tell you I am responsible for a large amount of the views on this thread today. My son is on the bubble in GA (he got 218 PSAT). I am nervous and he doesn’t seem too concerned.
Looking to start hearing scores soon. Not sure when his school principal would announce any results but hoping that its sooner rather than later.

Yay for all the new posters! This will help us tie down scores once they start rolling in.

Good luck everyone!

I wish my school had informed me that the PSAT was the NMSQT (or at least made it much clearer). I had no clue that it counted for anything, so I basically just said “Screw it” and decided not to really care too much what I got on it. I ended up getting a 204 (I’m from NY), and I think I could have easily gotten at least 10-15 points higher than that with about 2 hours of prep. Kind of frustrating, but all the same good luck to everyone vying for a spot. Unfortunately the scholarship itself isn’t actually worth much, but it is quite an honor to receive it.

Many schools offer significant money based on semi- or finalist standing, even if the student doesn’t win an award directly from NM Corp.

Is there a list compiled somewhere of schools that offer a full ride or at least a significant scholarship to those with semifinalist or finalist status?
