Homeschool mom in Colorado - My son does not even know that the notifications are due to show up any day now. I am glad to not share the stress with him but would love to hear something soon. Glad to read all these posts and know that I am not alone!

Iam almost certain I saw a post where graph was started. Someone reported one score and we were all supposed to fill in the rest. Was this my imagination? Can someone help me locate the post?

pg 75, post 1117. The only entered score so far is commended.

We are looking for scholarships. Not on the bubble for this kid, thankfully, couldn’t take that stress again, but CC addict here. I doubt S has the uberthetop ECs to get the NMSC $2500, but our flagship (UW-Madison) gives in-state kids a one time freshman award of $7500, and 2 OOS publics he is applying to give either the equivalent of full tuition+(Michigan State- though the award is given as rm/bd + $4,000 stipend + OOS waiver + $2500/yr assistantship) or nearly so (UMN-TC-$11,000/yr and OOS waiver, though we don’t need that, have reciprocity.) For us it’s all about the money.

Thanks for this- I really thought someone had plugged in 1 number but it looks like it hasn’t been edited.

just a question: My D is into 1 uni with about $16,000. They just sent the letter when they sent her admit offer. Will they adjust automatically if she ends up with NMSF? (sorry if this is the wrong place-maybe should be directed to a different thread?)

For those looking at schools in Texas with NMF qualifications (if your kid or you make it) - UT Austin has no scholarships but Texas A&M has one of the best scholarships in the nation, with a full tuition waiver in (10k/year) and out of state (25-30k/year). If someone is interested in engineering, A&M is a top 15 engineering school and top 4/5 in petroleum engineering. Their football since they moved to SEC has not been that shabby either. :p

University of Houston has almost full ride (tuition, room and board) and they have a really good engineering school too along with programs in pharmacy, DO etc. They have really great facilities, top notch faculty and ambitious administrators.

UT Dallas gives a lot of money.

@celesteroberts: Congratulations that you are off the bubble. Does this mean you are comfortably above it? Way to go if so. I think it is all about the money for many of us. Since most of the large schools that give National Merit full rides are not in my area, the importance of this test was off my radar. Will rethink with second kid!

I am still worried about what the “bubble” really is. Last year’s scores were a bit of a shock so just being 5 points above an all time high may not even be safe.

Speaking of small liberal arts colleges, have a son interested in Deep Springs. Can’t tell if that is the most selective college in the world or a monastery. Had never heard of it until older son made NMF a while back.

@ccdadusa: What an interesting school.

@saismom, I think that’s highly unlikely, but your words send a chill down my spine, as we are only sitting +3 from both last year and our all time high. I’d like to believe that’s only a risk in smaller states where scores can fluctuate considerably from year to year, given the indicators pointing in the other direction (primarily the lower commendation level!). Hopefully we’ll know soon enough! At least 3 states had data last year on this corresponding Saturday. I don’t expect to be one of those, but 3 states that drop will make the holiday wait more tolerable.

I have been reading these posts for many months now, I am one of the overly anxious parents, hopefully someone will hear today. I saw an earlier post about Texas A&M, do they really give 25K/year for OOS? I followed the link posted and it seemed that on the Texas A&M website they mentioned 24K total over 4 years.

Unless they’ve changed it just recently and have updated some pages, but not others…

I think we’re fairly above the bubble, a few points above all time high, but I’m not a worrier who imagines our cut score might jump 7 points after last year’s craziness. Our state doesn’t fluctuate that much anyway. Last year it went up 3 points, and that is a lot. Maybe I’ll be unpleasantly surprised.

@mic212, Texas A&M waives out of state tuition for any student receiving at least $1000 per year in renewable scholarships. NM students therefore qualify for the OOS tuition waiver. There is a GPA requirement to maintain scholarships, and for the NM package, that is a 3.5. Does not matter what major student is in or whether Honors or not, they must keep a 3.5 cumulative GPA or will lose scholarships after 1 semester grace period. Also, the NM package is subject to change, as my HS class of 2010 and class of 2012 kids each had different packages. 2012 package was reduced, then went back up for class of 2013, but it was not then increased for class of 2012, so for all 4 years my 2012 son gets less than his brother and the NM kids a grade above and below, but it still an excellent package.

My son has a 218 in pa! 1 point above last years all time high!! I need to know right now ! Lol

215 at all-time low in NY. I will get nothing done today and this weekend until someone posts. PLEASE post, someone!

Somewhere RIGHT NOW some homeschool parent is opening mail! Is there mail from NMSC? How can we find these homeschoolers and check their mailboxes?

NY came in last year with PA on Tuesday, which was still early compared to some. We have to get at least a few states today though to help formulate our expectations for the weekend.

@Grammargal is that for this year ? Is that score verified ???

I read that post to mean she was sitting at 215, which is the all time low for NY.

This is KILLING me! Please let PA come in today!
