I’ve seen a couple of posts talking about gmt’s predictions. Where can I see these predictions? What was the prediction for Kansas?

@calculemus, thanks for stepping up to the plate with list updates. I really like your little summary on the top (now that I’ve processed it!)

Edited to add: hoping he’s wrong on KS.

@Barfly @4blessings Yay for all Texans who made it!

In with a 213 in SC! My friend is in too and I think he had a 211 but don’t quote me on that.

And congrats to you @Amorphouscarbon!

Super, Kayvin! Did you find out at school or are you homeschooled?

So this potentially falls under the category of Cruel.

I was going to post a note for those getting the Carleton mailing, because I remember something like this happening last year or the year prior. A college, not necessarily Carleton - I can’t remember which one - sent out a similar mailing about this time and the DCs who got it were, indeed, NMSFs - even if they hadn’t gotten the official word yet. I am just sure I read this on CC, maybe even in the NMSF thread. The Carleton postings triggered my memory.

Then I went to the mailbox, just out of curiosity. DS got the postcard, too. I’ve barely allowed myself to hope before this moment, and I’m trying to keep myself in-check, but I sure do hope that Carleton College knows something that I do not. And if this is just another random mailing from them then they are going on my Naughty List this Christmas…and for eternity. The timing would, indeed, be cruel IMO.

For those waiting who also got the postcard, does it start out with: “Congratulations on being considered for the National Merit Scholarship Program. We don’t know if you’ll be selected, but , in case you are…”

Anybody hear anything about the Missouri cut off?

@Calculemus Got an email from my school

@GoAskDad, my D got that mailing and she is not on the bubble. However, I thought exactly the same thing that you did, i.e., if my kid was on the bubble and didn’t end up making it and got that Carleton mailing I would be mighty mighty peeved.

Wow, Kayvin! Doesn’t your school know that results can only be delivered via carrier pigeon?

Again congrats, and here’s the tally:

@silverdrop, are you in Texas? I don’t think we know the actual cut-off yet. I believe we know that the DC of @4blessings got in with a 218, but that does not necessarily mean that the TX cut-off IS 218. Tell us where you are and maybe we can help.

Barfly - congrats to S3 and to you! Been rooting for you since January. 3 kids, 3 NMSF - very sweet!

@suzy100, when did she get that postcard? I suppose the mailing could be read a variety of ways, but when I saw the earlier postings - and before I knew that the postcard was in our mailbox - I was getting ready to respond that I remembered something like this happening last year or the year prior. And all the DCs were IN, whether or not they had been notified officially.

Perhaps I shouldn’t have posted because none of us need false hope at the moment. I’m sorry if I am giving anyone false hope. Now I am truly anxious and need to go back to my mindset before I checked the blasted mail today! :((

Brazilnut, my DD went through the process last year in CA and we didn’t know for sure until 9/5 when a HS principal told a student that she was in with a 223. That was the same score as my DD. There were very few posts from CA until that day. Hopefully the process will be quicker this year.

Thank you, thank you, thank you @4blessings! Today is my birthday and it’s the best present I could get!

Thank you @CAPdad! Still tough sitting on this number… Please let me know if you hear anything sooner.

My D has not heard officially yet and I felt pretty comfortable with her 214 score, but still nice to see a 210 confirmation in LA! I wish she was as excited as I am. But once the school posts her picture on their web site, it gets into the local paper, her elementary school posts it on the alumni honors board, and people start congratulating her, I think she will start getting excited.
