<p>@DrMom68, FairTest tried its best for a change, but to no avail. Their effort led to addition of writing component in PSAT And SAT. <p>Pretty sure son made cutoff in IA unless it skyrocketed but school counselor said the principle has not shared any info on qualifiers yet. Once counselor hears , the students will be summoned and told as a group. They don’t seem to be in any particular rush to share the news.</p>

<p>I gave in and called the HS. DId not get any info, but was told that the students get the NM letter well in advance of the HS. I explained that was not the case - that the students don’t know they qualify and don’t have any way to log in and begin the application until the HS gives them the letter. Not sure if that will speed things up or not. Sounds like my son’s score is safe, but I’m sure there are borderliners there waiting to hear! I just found it interesting that the school thought the kids already knew. The HS also thought the kids in the top 50,000 got a letter in April.</p>
