ALREADY IN: Purdue, Vermont, Indiana, Michigan State, Ohio University, Colorado State, University Colorado, DENIED: Wisconsin. I like PSU for him but he’s not “feelin it” a bunch of his buddies got in (one is planning to go) and there’s talk of a road trip…probably to size up the female UP “Student body”
Hook: NOT applying to any regional alternative campuses. Since it wasn’t on the top of his list and we’re OOS it was all or nothing and he didn’t see the sense in “giving them a reason to place him elsewhere.”

Imoremom: Our whole college strategy for him is totally opposite his sister; who applied ED to NYU and a handful of EA other schools she was able to visit. Since S is applying to schools in like, 9 states, we thought it would make more sense to “toss the net out” and then go visit. He has seen Michigan State, PSU and The two schools in Colorado but as far as the others we kind of had him “batch them” so when we were to visit say, Indiana, he could see another Big 10 school in the area. The east coast schools will be a breeze to hit in a weekend. But he has to hear from a few more and then prioritize. I think in hindsight it made sense. The trip top Colorado for two cost about $1400 bucks and now that he’s in them he asked his dad “Ummmmm can I go back and check those two again?” As predicted, he didn’t take the college visit thing too seriously until his answers come in. I also think where his friends chose to go and their feedback might play out to have some effect.

That’s the first School of Architecture + Art decision I’ve seen…just within the past 2 hrs my D’s msg changed to “Your application has been received and is being reviewed. Thank you for applying to Penn State.” Strange. This is shorter than the “…a decision will be shown here once it is made…(not exact).” I am worried… I know he site was down for a short time very early this morning. Does anyone else have the new shorter message?

I`m glad to see amazing students getting accepted to Penn State, I feel proud when strong students get accepted. I just finised my first semester at university park, amazing education, it was definitly challenging but worth the hard time I underwent as an international student. Ended up getting a good gpa in my first semester.
Hope to see you guys.
