Class of 2016 chances

Brunswick High School (OH)

2nd largest public high school in Ohio

ACT: 28 (29 superscored)

GPA: 3.52 (weighted)

EC’s: Class of 2012 Class President, LINK Crew (Helping freshmen get accompanied to the high school lifestyle), Student Council, VOFT (organize PTA meetings and things of that nature), Ski Club.

Going into my senior year, is there anything I can to make myself more marketable for Michigan before I apply?

try to improve ur GPA as much as possible

Sup Dong. And he’s right, get your GPA higher but also try to get your ACT higher. You’re out of state, even so, unless you have a significant upward trend, even getting a 4.0 your senior year might not be enough. Anyways, good luck!

looks very iffy. mich doesn’t superscore, and doesn’t consider senior gpa (did it change?). only chance is to act 32+

^^they do get your 1st semester grades if you don’t apply EA. I honestly do not see much of a chance with a very low GPA compared to the average of Michigan(3.8 unweighted) and you are in the lower 25% of ACT scores. If you really want to go to Michigan you should study and retake the act and aim for at least a 32 or higher. Also get that GPA up because admissions are getting harder

^OP will probably get deferred if he applys EA, so his first semester senior grades will matter. Even if Michigan doesn’t require those grades, they would still prefer to see it. And even if he gets his ACT to 32+, it still might not matter. Unless there is a significant upward trend, even the 4.0 won’t matter because of the weakness of previous years. The only chance at admission would be to have extraordinary circumstances or the most spectacular essays and recs in the world. I know this because I wasn’t admitted in state with a 3.6+ GPA (UW) and 33 ACT.

It’s a reach. Improve your GPA and ACT as much as possible.

Also, Michigan only looks at your unweighted GPA and highest single ACT score.

Doby, i’ll tell you right now, there is little to no chance you get in.

And I know what I’m talking about… I went to Strongsville

Reach. Your GPA is below average. You could improve your chances by getting a higher ACT, but it’s still a reach.

You would be a reach if you were in-state. OOS is highly unlikely.

… ehhhh
Slim to non
