Yay for skewlcounselor’s D! I posted the congratulations elsewhere too, but it should be said again. Excited for them both!

Emmybet’s well written post basically just said we should only discuss the school that we have knowledge of, where we or our kids attend and not comment on other schools that we do not. Am I right?
Well, why doesn’t NYU deserve that same courtesy?

My daughter’s stats were HIGHER than those posted as NYUs stats for their 2012 class. Many of her friends in Tisch were substantially higher than that. The stats I posted were for the full university which is who my child will be in contact with. Not just the drama students.
Obviously, there are always exceptions.

So excited for your D, skewlcounselor!! Miami sounds wonderful!

He’s an excellent actor. I first saw him when he was in In Treatment with Gabriel Byrne. A fabulous performance that just had you saying “wow”. I miss that show. It showcased so many very talented theatre actors.

skewlcounselor - major congrats!!! Is it t-shirt official? When we purchased the gear I figured that made it the final choice!

I’d like to see that movie also - it got a fair review in the Boston Globe, but they really praised the young actor you are talking about - calling his performance the best in the movie. Good for him!

Thank you, everyone, for the warm (ha-ha) wishes.

My husband and daughter got home late last night with UMiami spiritwear for the entire family. So, yes photomom, I would say that we are t-shirt official!

My husband says he has never seen so many bikinis, tiny skirts and short-shorts all in one place, so I guess you could say he is happy, too, and can’t wait to go back to visit. ;-)

Whew! Now I can get back to my regularly scheduled life!

Congrats to skewl and daughter (and skewl’s hubby, too)!

That’s great. We put a deposit down at CCPA yesterday, though we’re still hoping for a break from Syracuse.

Congrats skewl!!! Could you keep us posted? I’d love to hear more about this program!

Skewl:congrats to your D and your family. and Jkelly, It must feel good to have a deposit down.

Yeah Skewl-Miami is hot in so many good ways! Congrats

Thanks Mom2gals. We saw Big Fish in Chicago (it’s going to NYC next)…Norbert Leo Butz in the lead, a very fine Kate Baldwin (NU) and an also quite accomplished Bobby Steggert (Tisch and RADA) in the son’s role. it was quite the spectacle (though a little murky as narrative). Anyway, it was great to be there, walking up Michigan Avenue for a show with a great big full moon in the sky.

I’m not as crazy about CCPA as my son is, but if it gets him established in Chicago (and obviously there are no guarantees), bring it on.
