Class of 2017 hopefuls

Hey, just wondering, any other 2017s here?

Me! 10char

count me in :D

Isn’t this a bit early?

a bit early for what? I was just seeing if there was anyone else.

Looking from the classes ahead of us, and how the acceptance rates are going down, its is probably going to be much more competitive for us, but that is only a guess.

Yea, I’m worried about that. I have great grades and ECs but still, I don’t really have any major hooks like being amazing at a sport. All I have as of hooks is one legacy.

I don’t think Cornell acceptance rate will plunge that much. It was 18% this year. Probably 17.5-18% next year.

What other schools have you guys looked at that you really liked? and also how would you rank those schools among each other?

Actually I have two favorites right now. Might become 3, as I will be taking a summer course at Brown University. Currently, I want to attend either Duke or Stanford. The chances of that happening? I am not sure, but still, I do have dreams. But, I would be happy with any of the Ivies, Caltech, Duke, Johns Hopkins, Stanford, Rice, and University of Chicago.

As far as ranking goes, it is not really which one is better due to acceptance rates. I mean, I went to MIT for a tour, and the guide who was a rising senior at MIT, got rejected by Cornell. One would think that with MIT having a lower acceptance rate, it would be given that you will receive acceptance to Cornell, but that is not the case. Therefore, it is prestigious in different fields, so it can’t be compared like that.

hahahaha, good luck guys! good thing you’re planning wayyy ahead! :)
