Class of 2019 (the journey begins) - Sharing,Venting, Etc

@mtflmomof1‌ don’t worry she’ll be auditioning for college shows and summer stock before you know it. I still have plenty of reasons to pull my hair out LOL Great posts!!

Just got home and there was a missed call from Pace…does anyone know if calls are going out or if it’s just a false alarm?

We got one also. They wanted to let us know about the admitted students visiting days, weekends, etc. The info is also on their website at www.pace.edu/experience.

That is a cruel tease! :-S

Donut Plant crack can be obtained on the Lower East Side or in Chelsea on West 23rd St between 7th and 8th Avenue (south side of the street).

I remember Pace being a repeat offender of calling from the admissions office. There was a call at least once a week! MT acceptances are historically made by calling the student’s cell phone.

And Penn State is a repeat offender of mailing letters and big envelopes saying, “How about coming to Penn State for a different major?” Pace kept calling us and my D didn’t even apply. She visited and took a tour and decided not to apply…and still the phone calls came.

OH and Baldwin Wallace was still sending emails AFTER The D was NOT accepted for musical theatre–not to mention an email before a decision was made that made it seem as if she was accepted but hadn’t heard yet. NO BUENO!

Texas State has been busy with emails and letters weekly+… didn’t even pass the pre-screen there.

Pace was horrible about it last year…my D was accepted academically but not artistically. Pace offered a huge scholarship, plus a laptop, as a lure to go there anyway. The calls and letters went on for months despite her prompt rejection of their offer. It just rubbed salt in the wound.

If you contact admissions dept and ask to be removed (would only recommend if school is truly off radar) they generally stop contact. But some schools don’t take the hint very well…

D received an email last week from a school she’s still waiting to hear from. It was from a current MT student saying X asked me to contact you to see if I can answer any questions for you about the program. We can see from the Acceptances post here that others have received offers from the same day she auditioned. So why the email? Scratching my head!

Actually, we are sort of immune to all of these notifications by now. We sort of assume all of them are “junk” mail (whether electronic or paper) and are actually taken by surprise when something actually related to an MT decision (holds, deferments, etc…) arrive. I have a folder for each school where I “file” whatever comes in. If it is not a decision, we take a quick scan and file for later reading if she is admitted. For the schools she is admitted, we file the housing reminders and orientation notices for later reference if she elects to attend that school. We will have a ceremonial bonfire of all irrelevant communications when she makes her final decision!

OK, so now the D is nervous and we are nervous as the waiting has begun! I guess calls will probably start being made next week and all through the month of March. A question for anyone who has been through this before: What time are those calls generally made to the students? I’m guessing after school but have no idea. My D doesn’t want to miss one!

Oh well something else to worry/think about. Back to checking e-mails, Acceptd, school admission portals, Facebook, then back to CC - repeat!

@MTParents2015 In my son’s auction cycle Pace called his cell phone during school hours. Michigan called in the evening. All other acceptances were email/web portal.

My daughter received phone calls during the day during school…

Does anyone know what ‘IFR waived’ means?

Infield Fly Rule waived

Im thinking my MT application wouldn’t have baseball acronyms… But you never know in this crazy process! Anybody else have any ideas?

@MTParents2015, Otterbein in the past has started calling after school–at around 4:00 p.m. That’s when they start–my son’s call came closer to 5 pm (he didn’t know the calls had begun, but I’d spotted it on CC and was, therefore, a basket case).
