After S got the priority hold notice earlier today from Texas State he got a call from Kaitlin Hopkins with an offer, He did a happy dance! He is so, so honored and thrilled!
Congrats @MTDadandProudâ ! So far the boys have gotten the calls tonight! The Priority Holds for the girls are trickling inâŠ

D got a Priority Hold to Texas State this morning through accepted e mail. Very, very excited for now! Good timing also because she got a NO from Penn State last night through Penn State portal.
So I have a question that I know has been answered here before but I donât remember the answer and I really donât have the time to look through the whole thing to find it; what does Priority Hold mean at Texas State? Does it mean âwe want to accept you but it depends on whether the students earlier on the list accept or notâ or is it something different? Do they put hundreds of students on priority hold?

@pookiesunshine I completely understand. I hesitated a little before I posted my Sâs acceptance because I knew so many are still suffering the waiting - hoping to get good news. I was there just a day ago! I am sure good news will come to everyone but it is cruel that this process is drug out over 5 weeks or so. Good luck to all!

@Patrice13â a priority hold means you are in the pool of students they will be selecting from. This group is usually limited to below 75 or so and can very at each school that uses this type of system. It is a great nod to be in that group! Even though it is not a âyesâ yet, let it serve as a confirmation that your child was at least in the final running! 
@Patrice13 Congrats on the news from Texas State. I wish I could answer your question better. My D has a friend who is in the current Freshman class at Texas State and my understanding is that the Priority Hold group is a much smaller group than got past the prescreen, maybe only 30-40 or so. It means your D is in the final pool they are having to pick between. Good luck.
Sorry to hear about Penn State. My D is waiting too. So far nothing has changed under her application status. Is that where you found out about the no?
Congrats, @Patrice13â !!! Texas State had their last audition last weekend. One Dâs friend was at that callback. Apparently, Kaitilin announced at the parentsâ meeting that up to 40 students would be placed on Priority Hold. She did not specify gender breakdown, and of course, that was probably an estimate on her part. But, it is good to know the âballparkâ figure.

I have heard of at least one girl admitted at Texas State so the girls are getting called now too!
