It sounds (from parent reports) as though Elon had approximately 60 kids at each of the February auditions. That would be a tad more than double the size of the earlier auditions that had 26 at each.
The earlier auditions had 13 each ā 26 total for the fall.
I donāt know which is worse: no college-related mail or NO MAIL at all! 
@Divamamacitaā , you are correct. I was thinking of the entire fall. So, it is more like four times the size at each of the February auditions.
A friend of mine who is scheduled for Elon this weekend told me: Winter Storm warning for North Carolina through tomorrow. Elon to open at noon. With only drive if emergency as warning. againā¦ Why in February? 
Elon is getting hit pretty hard right now. Son says they are expecting 8 inches. Donāt know what that means for air travel, but car travel will be next to impossible for a while. He also said this is the last audition date for this year.
The fall auditions always had fewer attending than in the spring. Spring auditions were getting numbers as high as 90 or 100, hence this yearās pre-screens. I am sure they will be making adjustments to how they proceed with those for a while. Decisions are generally out mid-March online, but those accepted will also receive a phone call to welcome them to the Elon family. There will be a waitlist too. While a few may be accepted in the fall (usually boys), the department mostly defers those they are interested in till they see everyone.
Currently en route (driving) to Elon for Fridayās audition. Hoping things are clear by Friday. Iād hate to get all the way there & have them cancelā¦

Elon has delayed opening of 12:00 today with 6 inches of snow. I know this probably gives the Northerners a giggle, that is NC for you. There will probably be a delay tomorrow morning too, to give roads an opportunity to melt a little. I still canāt imagine that they would cancel auditions knowing people are traveling to get there. Be safe!
Isnāt that what happened last year? I vaguely remember reading about folks getting to a school but auditions being cancelled for weather (an ice storm?) and applicants ending up sending video auditions finally. Was that Elon? Maybe it would be better to call before hitting the road.
@mtmom2015, be careful. Thereās a lot of snow on the ground in NC but the roads arenāt too bad to drive. I had the highway to myself this morning. Tomorrow, however, can be another story if the temps drop.
Elon just posted that they are now closing for the entire day.
