Oh @pookiesunshineā sorry to hear that, there just is not a way to describe this process to anyone unless they are in the exact same place as us. It is just so hard to be in a position where we canāt fix things for our kids. Or help them anymore then we already have other then to offer support.
@Jrdirectortommyā so true, nobody gets itā¦ Iām avoiding all friends and family members til this is overā¦ Their innocent inquiries are like little daggers into my soulā¦ Ha! D said thatās all they talk about at auditions now ā¦ when the kids are alone in a holding pattern. They talk about how no body else gets it and how stressed they all are.
Poor kids. Poor parents too.
All I can believe and hold onto, is that everything will make sense when we are looking at this process in the rearview mirror from several months down the road.
I hope, that is.
This too shall pass. And next year will have itās own trials, but not like this. If you/your kids survive this, you can survive almost anything this path serves up.
It gets better- I swear. We were lucky and had choices, but I know several kids from PA school in the last couple years who were not accepted anywhere (BFA) their senior year. (variety of reasons, some more to do with them, some jus didnāt get lucky) EVERY one of those kids has moved on and is happy now. Some took gap years and started again, some went to a safety school and transferred, and some went to safety schools and found they love it there. You are getting SO close to the finish line- the bandaid is almost off- stay strong!!!
Hang in there, everybody! As everyone knows, my D (and therefore me too) had one of the rougher rides. The only MT program she was accepted artistically to was Molloy/CAP 21. We heard about the program from a fellow CC mom and auditioned at the last minute. D was devastated, but she went. And it turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to her. This is now the hottest program out there. The training is amazing, the kids are talented and bonded quickly, and sheās already been in 2 Equity shows. There were zero thoughts of transferringā¦zero. We are living proof that it all works out in the end. Really!
@pookiesunshine I completely understand about the occasional melt-down. I would be lying if I said I havenāt shed a few tears along the way. D is much more zen than I have been. It is definitely something that most of my friends donāt āgetā and having this forum had been helpful, just knowing that other people are feeling the same way. Just a few more weeks and it will be the end of the waiting and the start of their wonderful new journeys.
I got wait listed for Wright State! Anyone have any idea how many people they usually wait list, and how good of a chance there is of getting off of it?

One boy today got a call for BSU! I think the phone call waiting is the biggest torture!
Iāve seen in the Western Michigan forum that they offered a boy a couple of months ago ā¦ and then called another boy yesterday.
