Class of 2019 (the journey begins) - Sharing,Venting, Etc

I remember this time vividly…so many schools starting spring breaks. This entire month one school or another was closed and I couldn’t keep track.

I received 5 letters from colleges in the mail today, including two big envelopes, and not one of them had anything to do with musical theatre… What is this trickery? :((

That’s just cruel!

That’s horrible @stage2nature‌.

As has been previously discussed, it’s a favorite trick of some schools to “redirect” applicants, i.e., accept your child academically, offer a lure of a generous scholarship, then reject your child artistically but keep after them to commit anyway and major in something else. It happened to us last year, and I doubt this practice has stopped. I agree with you, it’s cruel.

GOT A LETTER FROM ROCKFORD!

(On 2/28, D was told to look for something in 7-10 days. You do the math.)

It was financial aid & FASFA info.

Screw you.

ARRGHHHHH!

=((

lol, @stage2nature and @KaMaMom‌! That’s funny–and cruel! Keep your sense of humor…

I saw her carrying those from the mailbox and started praying while acting calm and cool, lol!

OMG! That is so cruel @KaMaMom and @stage@nature! I’m glad I didn’t read this earlier. We got a big envelope from Ithaca today. We were so excited to open it. My daughter saw that it was a folder and got so mad thinking it was a brochure, blah, blah, blah. Then she opened it and there was a letter of ACCEPTANCE!!! We are so happy.
<:-P

Here is to Acceptances on their way to all of you!

Eeeeek!!! My S has a big envelope!! I hope his i

@Patrice13 did I read your acceptance post correctly that it is for MFA MT, not BFA?

I hope his isn’t a brochure LOL!!

Sorry, BFA is right. I will go ahed and change that.

Omg. I am so over this. I am in such a foul mood.

ETA: For the record, I am VERY happy about all the other acceptances. Truly!! Just having my own pity party here today.

Wohoo!!! Go @Patrice13 !!! Keep 'em coming!!!

The size of the envelope at one time meant something but I think no longer can be counted upon! I recall when my D got her acceptance from Ithaca for MT, it was a regular small envelope. They keep ya guessing!

Size really doesn’t matter, LOL!

Friend got accepted to a music program at CCM over the weekend- it came in a small envelope. And he had only applied to one school (long story, and his choice), his poor mother nearly lost it when she saw the small envelope, but then she got to nearly lose it with joy- so it ended well!!

No, Ithaca is DEF a BIG envelope!

Yay! S’s envelope wasn’t a brochure

So happy for you, @tmygirl!
