All my acceptances so far have been whole folders! But those were combined artistic/academic so I don’t know if it’s different when they are separate.
At Molloy, the academic was a big envelope and the artistic was small…in fact, it was that way with all of them.
@KaMaMom - you made me chuckle with the Pity Party comment. If you feel like immersing yourself, you should check out some of Puddles’ work. Had a chance to see East Carolina University’s acceptance letter today. It sure was…different from what I’ve seen. Is it me, or does it sound a little, I don’t know, lacking warmth?
“We prefer not to become a student’s back-up plan” and “You may choose to reply with a maybe and I will keep you in a pending category while I continue to notify others of their status over the next few weeks”. “If I have not received confirmation by March 31, 2015, it will be assumed that you have chosen to decline and this offer will be voided…”

When posting, consider that this is a public platform. This process is frustrating, yes, but this is not a private conversation and the world of the theatre is small.
Sharing, venting…it is the title of the thread.
Yup. Just saying. Not a private group. More like a waiting area at auditions with a boatload of people in it - some who’ve been around for a decade and others who will stay around for a decade. Those people include faculty and admissions officers. Sharing and venting without limits can come back to bite you.
Honestly, I don’t think there’s anything that’s been said in this thread that has been THAT bad.
I do agree that you never know who’s watching & listening (ilovewesternmichigan. go broncos. ialsoloverockford. reggietheregentrocks) but again, I don’t think there’s anything in here that’s too horrible.
This is a stressful process that the normal world of college admissions doesn’t get. And it’s super helpful to have a place to vent, cry, pout & complain in.
I would hope that the majority of admins who are lurking out there take this - especially this particular thread - with a grain of salt. Tensions run high - and they know it. (Heck, they live it every year - most of us only do it once or perhaps twice.)
I just deleted what I really wanted to say, because, someone might be “lurking”. What 's the point of this thread if we must censure our true feelings?
I think admissions officers have better things to do than read our rants, at least I hope so.
