In case anyone was wondering, it is completely pointless to post anything in the individual school forums above.
Michele from Florida State is still active and is very helpful, but generally you are right. Without the NEW designation on the individual school forums, no one seems to utilize them anymore.
I check the ones I am interested in and keep up. It can be done and you can use bookmarks as a work around. Too bad it can’t be fixed.
I check in on S’s school almost daily. Not too many people seem to think of it as a “contender”. Have had several conversations via PM.
I check the James Madison MT page at least once a week to see if there are any posts for me to answer. But, I agree that I miss the little dots next to them that indicated if there were new posts.
D got a yes from Nebraska Wesleyan tonight!

But it specifically says BFA Theatre Program.
Not Musical Theatre, not Theatre Studies … just Theatre Program. A little perplexed … but she did get an additional Theatre scholarship though … so yay for that too.
I have a feeling after reading the email 7,349 times, that she’s been admitted to the BFA Program under the umbrella of the Theatre department, but her exact track (MT, Theatre Studies, blah blah blah) will be discussed after the first semester.
Or I could just wait til tomorrow morning from clarification from the dept. head.

@soozievt … it wasn’t THAT bad. (As I say now that we’re out of the long, dark, confusing tunnel!)
I’m VERY thankful she was accepted anywhere at this point … over the last few days, D has done some catching up with lots of kids that she met at Berklee and at IU’s summer programs. The number of kids who haven’t gotten in ANYWHERE is shocking to me. And these are kids that I specifically remember as standouts in those summer programs.
We are off to SIU tomorrow … D is going to sit in a full day of MT classes and (hopefully) love it there.

@KaMaMom - Glad she got another Yes and good luck on the SIU visit! You made me laugh with your “it wasn’t THAT bad” comment. That was exactly what I said about natural childbirth a while after D was born…but it was NOT what I said about it at the time it was actually happening. Funny how the painful moments subside quickly,

@kaMaMom - make sure and ask about the McLeod Summer Playhouse. We had a friend whose D was part of their summer stock company last year. She met a lot of SIU kids through that and loved them and the summer experience. Hope your D loves it!!!

Have I ever mentioned here that I went to SIU in the dark ages? (Well, neon ages - it WAS the 80s.)
Random question- did anyone else notice the format change? I pop between the MT and drama forums, and normally did that through “college majors” at the top of the page- and suddenly that’s not there. Does anyone have a better way to navigate?
I noticed that, too, @toowonderful, and may have to set up separate bookmarks now.
