@jsr1900 we asked for Feb 21…but that hasn’t been confirmed yet.

When did you guys submit to FSU?

@tylerjohn…submitted FSU Oct 15

We submitted prescreen 10/21…and heard back last night 11/3…

Submitted 10/15, got a yes 11/3.

For D, Florida State submission was 10/23 and we also heard yesterday, 11/3.

should I call Texas State? 20 days since submission…

@MTkellbell - No news is good news. I would wait to call until after I saw other people here saying they got a callback from TXST…Obviously, they are still deliberating. This procedure is completely subjective, and each school has their own method. My D submitted Oct.9 and we have yet to hear anything from them either. My D won’t let me call until she hears that “other people” have heard “yes”. So far the only ones we have heard of are “no”, so not hearing at this point is only good news! Glass half-full, glass half-full!!!

Ahhhh…the voice of reason;), EXACTLY what I needed right about now! Thanks!

Agree with addicted. I think those not receiving no at this juncture are very likely to get a yes at some future date unknown.

HEY if anyone needs any help on college audition stuff or just needs questions answered just message me!!! I am a freshman Musical Theatre Major at CCPA!

FINALLY posting after lurking for more than a year! I tried to post months ago, but I had technical difficulties with CC. Anyway, I am so grateful for this site and the support and information it offers. My D has applied to CMU, UMich, Pace, Marymount Manhattan, BW, Elon, Hartt School, Emerson, Rider, Ball State and Point Park. She passed the Pace prescreens and got nos from BW and Elon. Also, she is at Interlochen for her senior theatre, so that’s a bit of a struggle at times because we are 1,000 miles away from each other through this crazy process. But I’m beyond grateful for the training and the insight to the audition process she is getting there, so I guess it’s a wash. I did have one question for the group – has anyone considered Western Carolina? We live in NC so it would be amazing to be in state, and when I read up on the MT program today I was quite impressed. I really think D is going to apply, and I was just curious if anyone else was considering it? I’m so glad to finally be jumping in!

Hello @tarheelMTMa! As you can tell by my handle I am from our great state of NC! My D is applying to 2 state schools…ECU and Western. I know that Western just hired a new gal as the head of their MT program, but I haven’t heard anything about how she is managing the program. I do know that they have an amazing theatre, I hear it is beautiful! We haven’t done a campus tour yet. We are waiting for her audition date to do that. One thing I don’t like is just how far it is from me, it will take me as long or longer to get there than some of the out of state schools where she is applying. Hopefully we can meet up somewhere along the audition tour! My D is also applying to Rider and Ball State.

@tarheelMTma - here are a couple of links to past threads on Western Carolina:

Hi everyone! I’m new to this thread and thought I’d share a little about my background. Also, just to avoid future confusion, user @Patrice13 is my mom.

I live in Northern California and have been involved in MT since around 3rd grade. I’ve taken voice lessons for 4 years now, and have taken on and off dance lessons in ballet, jazz, and tap since elementary school. I am 5’2” brunette, and look pretty racially ambiguous, though in reality I am Caucasian/Puerto Rican. I’m a mezzo-soprano belter and tend to play ingénue type characters, but recently have found myself playing a much wider range (darker, more dramatic roles as well as a few comedic.) I would consider myself a singer/actor who can move well (I pick up combos quickly and have a good sense of rhythm, but I am not flexible). My grades are good but test scores were lower than I had hoped for, though I am still going to apply to the “top” colleges.

Here is my final school list:

Carnegie Mellon, Ithaca, Penn State, Texas State, Marymount Manhattan, Michigan, Pace, Chapman (for Screen Acting), Emerson, Syracuse, NYU, Rider, Northwestern (non-audition), USC, UCLA, UC Irvine (non-audition), and American University (no audition until May if admitted).

I have finished submitting all of my applications and Pre-Screen materials. Of the schools who require pre-screens, I have gotten “yeses” from Ithaca, Penn State, Marymount Manhattan, and Pace. Still waiting to hear from TSU and Michigan. Also, I was admitted academically to MMC yesterday!

Wow, that was longer than I expected! I look forward to the journey with all of you, good luck to everyone!

@Nina2019 I noticed you have Chapman for screen acting…did you know that Pace also has a Film,TV,Voiceover major? My D submitted (and passed) prescreens for MT Pace AND FTV Pace. Just though I’d throw that out there, in case you didn’t know.

@MTkellbell thanks, I’ll look into it!

@MTkellbell , my D was accepted into Pace’s Acting for Film/TV/Commercials/VoiceOver last year! It was second on her list, had she not been accepted to Coastal! I thought it was such a cool major!

Hi @Nina2019 I’m a high school senior too! I am recording and finishing my prescreen submissions today and tomorrow. I recently applied to all my schools and most of them have replied with confirmation emails and IDs and passwords to get an audition date, but CMU and a few haven’t and its been a few days! The waiting sucks.
