I reached out to Ithaca again today. The admin I spoke with was very apologetic and said that some faculty are quicker than others in their review. There is not a rhyme or reason based upon when you submitted – my D submitted August 28th!!! I think it depends who is reviewing that particular prescreen. She told me again that all prescreens would be reviewed and decisions would be out by mid-December. So, I guess we need to hold tight. I am just nervous that my D’s somehow got lost in the shuffle – she submitted so long ago!

@MTkellbell BAL @ Coastal! Looking forward to your audition review! We go in January.

@Divamamcita I vaguely remember someone having their prescreen lost last year and they lost out on auditioning for that school. Maybe someone else has a better memory than me, I feel like it was Ithaca or Syracuse…anyone else remember that?

Syracuse doesn’t prescreen- so might have been Ithaca

Bisouu - I think it was Syracuse and they lost her audition. I took that to mean they had no record of the event!

Thank you @entertainersmom I knew it was something like that…

Awfully quiet out there. . .audition reports anyone?

Sorry for butting in here, but I was following this thread when my d was considering MT. She’s decided on VP instead, but we still have the pre-screen process to go through. Can someone tell me if you know whether we should put all of my d’s songs in one file or upload separate files for each song? We have some uploads to do to DesisionDesk and Getacceptd and I was hoping to get them done this weekend.

I know this thread gets more attention than most of the music forum, so I hope you don’t mind me coming here to draw on your expertise!!

Has anyone else sent prescreens to UCF? If so, have you heard back from them? Thanks

Most schools prefer, and instruct you, to do each song separately. At least, that has been our experience.

Definitely separate files!

Just returned home from a Baldwin Wallace audition with my daughter. It was a fun day. Arrival @ 9:00. Information session @ 9:30. The students left around 10:30 to begin their audition day: music theory/piano/voice/monologues. The parents were invited to watch a video of a New York Showcase featuring former students. Parents had lunch which was provided by the school. It’s always fun to meet other parents and compare notes. After lunch both parents and students sat in on a Master Class with BW students, the head of the MT department and a casting agent. That was a treat! We heard many current BW students perform and heard valuable comments from the casting agent. BW students participate in up to 30 of these master classes by the time they graduate. Next was the dance audition. While the students did this the parents had a Q&A session with Vicki, the head of the MT program. She was great. Also….for those of you sweating the dance audition, they just want to see that you’re having fun and trying hard. Dance ability does not appear to be a factor in the admissions process.

Thanks, @Dusing2 and @bigsong! I wish there was a thread like this for VP. I could really use some camaraderie about now. There are just not enough Saturdays in the months of January and February for all of the auditions and other activities and I am going bonkers trying to sort this all out. Of course, it doesn’t help that I had most of the dates from one school on the calendar for the wrong month and just realized it while d was filling out her application and needed to request an audition date.

I was there with my S @bigsong
My husband and I missed most of the master class bc we thought it started @ 2:30 LOL but what we did see of it was impressive

We missed part of it, too…because we were out scrambling to purchase a t-shirt for D for dance audition!

@bigsong We hit Walmart late Friday night for ashirt for the dance audition… must be a thing. I asked before we left if he had “dance clothes” and he said yes. Evidently I need to itemize my questions… do you have shorts? do you have a shirt? do you have socks? do you have shoes?

Just wanted to leave this here…so many paths to success. http://www.playbill.com/news/article/schools-of-the-stars-where-side-show-cast-and-creators-went-to-college-335472

Any more pre-screen news coming in?

Crickets @MTLegacy We are waiting for Ithaca
