Class of 2021; Chance me, please.

Hi all! I love in the NYC suburbs and would like to know my chances for: Swarthmore, Columbia, Brandeis, Chapel Hill, Carnegie Mellon, JHU, Yale, MIT, UPENN, Washington U, Princeton. I’ve already been accepted to University of Minnesota College of Biological Sciences and am hoping for Rutgers SEBS.
Hooks: URM minority, first generation, female pursuing research science
GPA: 6.74 weighted
Rank: 1/296
AP: 13, scored mostly 4s, a couple of 3s/5s
ACT: 30, but retaking Dec. 10- aiming for 32
ECS: ALL region/county/State French Hornist
Made it into Carnegie Hall’s National Youth Orchestra last summer; 3 week residency where I trained and performed with countries top musicians. Also worked with Project440, Philadelphia Orchestra’s non-profit to train URM youth in orchestral music.
Taught young Hornists every summer through District Summer Music.
Hospital volunteer over 3 years.
5 honors societies; president of 2.
Chemistry Olympiads; first and second in Molecular Molecule.
School’s selective STEM program.
Associate Director of Honors Wind Ensemble.
Officer in 200 member marching band.
Also: Selected for MIT’S selective summer outreach residency, E2@MIT. The professor I worked with the wrote me a nice recommendation.
Chosen for UPENN’S competitive fly-in program, PEEP. Spent 2 nights all expenses paid there in October.
Selected rising sophomore summer to do a 5 week AEOP STEM program at NJIT. Received Academic Excellence award there.

WOW. Amazing GPA and Class Rank, along with AP scores. I think those alone will make you stand out, and first-gen is a definite hook. I think you have a great chance at ALL of these schools, but definitely retake your ACT for better chances at Carnegie, Columbia, Yale, MIT, UPENN, WASHU, and Princeton.

Just to update, I didn’t apply to Carnegie, JHU, or MIT. I was rejected at Yale and Columbia. I was accepted to PENN, Swarthmore, Princeton, Chapel Hill, Brandeis, and WashU. How did you fare, @oceanblue92 ?
