Montclair’s Portal is down. Call IT to reinstate your PIN number.
Also, many of these schools are starting Spring Break. Any idea if we’ll hear anything during that time??
@samigaga I know that the only kids who were accepted to USC already are the scholarship winners who found out I think at the end of January. So congratulations @BandMom55 that is very impressive!
Is that the Nest portal CWID for Montclair? I can’t even figure out where we are supposed to be checking!
@samigaga and marg928 Thank you! Yes, my D received the white box with scholarship info at the end of January. We were surprised and didn’t know what it meant because the scholarship info wasn’t in it. Thankfully, post on CC USC confirmed that she was receiving $. While we love USC, we are from the east coast and this is my baby, so I am hoping for something closer, but of course she would love to spread her wings. Oh well, time will tell.
@BandMom55 at the beginning of this process USC was the dream school! She has expanded her interests since then but honestly, an acceptance from USC would be amazing and I would most likely push her in that direction. We won’t get a dime from them unfortunately, she just doesn’t have those kind of grades. But I can see myself being ok with paying full price for that school vs just about every other one on her list. It’s not all that much more than LMU which she is seriously considering.
@KelviVan Yes it’s the NEST. If you got an acceptance letter then the CWID # and PIN are at the bottom of the letter. Go to montclair.edu/NEST. I keep checking for financial aid info. I have no idea that it will be in the portal or we’ll get something by snail mail.
@aquarose26 We’ve gotten financial aid merit info in the mail from Montclair, but it wasn’t reflected on the Nest portal last week. And still no artistic answer yet…
Got financial aid total cost letter for rider and updated sticker shock. If you can, as letters come in, it would be helpful to update it. I put the year afterwards so we know it is up to date. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/musical-theater-major/1631040-sticker-shock-cost-of-attendance-from-financial-award-letters.html#latest
According to Montclair financial aid letters will be going out the first week of April (or sooner). My D was notified for BFA & school but we haven’t gotten the financial aid information yet… Ack! With all these schools it seems like everybody has some information, other people have different information but nobody has ALL the information.
@MTMHopeful how did you find out BFA acceptance from Montclair?
I wanted to add that Missouri State told us that they were able to waive out of state tuition for “most” of those they are accepting into the BFA. Which would make Missouri State one of the most reasonable. And my D LOVED their head of music theater Robert Westenberg.
when do you think missouri state will send out the news?
Also, my D received a generous merit scholoarshio from Webster (she had pretty good ACT but her grades aren’t super stellar) so that was suprise.
My D loved them too!! Lara Teeter was awesome. We are holding our breath and crossing fingers for that one!!!
Thankful she has a couple BFAs she’s gotten in to that she’d be happy at…but none we’ve received aid for or that we can afford so far
Thank you for all the financial information! I am sitting here thinking all we wanted was something to come in the mail (nothing came in the mail today…) And then seconds ago a text from my daughter popped up - she got into Fordham (Acting)! even though she is a hard-core MT girl…
Someone posted in the Drama forum that they got a call today from Pace with an Acting acceptance…
how long did it take people to hear from LIU
@preppytheatre I auditioned for musical theatre as a walk in at NYC Unifieds on 1/22 and received an acceptance to their MT program (email) on 2/2!
@MTAlabamaMom Indicated verbally at Unifieds and follow up a week later with an email.
