Class of 2021 (sharing, venting, etc)

Has anyone who auditioned at Chicago Unifieds received an acceptance from Hartt?

@MomofMTBoy D auditioned in LA for Hartt and we’ve not heard anything.

Nothing from Hartt, auditioned at Unifieds. Thinking it’s unlikely anyway.

D auditioned for Hartt in Chicago and has heard nothing yet. No mail today again. But honestly I have come to the conclusion that is a good thing. Seems really good news tends to come via email or phone call!

S auditioned on campus for Hartt in mid-February. No news yet, but my recollection is that the theatre department folks indicated that they communicate with everyone via mail. He did get an email from the University indicating that he met the requirements for academic admission a while ago.

D auditioned at Hartt at NY Unifieds. Heard back a couple weeks later via snail mail with an acceptance.

@MomofMTBoy we went to Hartt on campus before Chicago and have not heard a thing.

Has anyone heard back from Oklahoma City University? My D loved the school!

Long time following CC, finally broke down to ask questions, Thanks ahead of time  My D auditioned on campus at CCM. She is on Hold. She heard back 2 days after audition, but we are wondering if they filled the class already and she is on a wait list perhaps. Anyone else with similar circumstance? Thx

@CL2021KEN same here. We actually heard about 2 weeks after and have been “on hold” since then. It’s like pergatory

@Kentmtmom sure feels like it

Can anyone comment on how Montclair notifies and how long after audition ?
We have late audition this month and wondering how long it will be before we know anything

@theaterwork we heard from Montclair by snail mail. A very confusing snail mail.

@CL2021KEN that was us last year. CCM is notorious for notifying "no"s early but we were placed on hold for several weeks. We ultimately ended up with a no - but it was nerve wracking! Last year we knew a couple of seniors who gave us a heads up when we would hear. Hang in there and truly no news is good news!!

@theaterwork I heard from Montclair by email!

I heard Emerson is updating portals tomorrow. Hoping the blizzard won’t affect timelines.

Not sure if anyone is still applying to non-audition schools but a neighbor just told me about Sweet Briar and their Musical Theatre Major. It is a liberal arts college for women in Virginia. They are still accepting applications and it sounds like a wonderful and welcoming school. It says online that the application deadline is February, but they are still accepting applications I believe.

@CL2021KEN If I remember correctly from D’s CCM auditions, they said they would notify definite yes or no decisions quickly. We heard w/in a week. If you are a maybe, they put you “on hold” until they’ve finished all auditions and make final review of all holds, then notify. When I spoke with aCCM rep last week re: financial aid info, she said all the final decisions and packages would be out March 31. Maybe that applies to the final admission decisions too? Not much help, I know, but hopefully some hope for a positive outcome in the next few weeks!

It would be impressive if CCM could wrap up entirely by March 31. All those who have been accepted would have to decide timely, then the waitlisted students (who turn to admits, if there are any) would need to decide. Not impossible but it seems more likely the final process will linger into April. My D got off waitlists last year on March 30 and March 31; the process extended at least into the first few days of April. I know others who were notified after the deadline (even into summer). Hopefully, CCM notifies waitlisted students immediately once the class is full!

Does anyone from the east coast know it the storm has passed and admissions are back in business? We’re here in California suffering with 90 degree weather. ;))
