I also won a silver medal in IChO (best result for my country) and participated in more science Olympiads, which were my main extracurricular. I think my essays conveyed well how passionate I am about chemistry, but also how I have other interests besides science. I also really tried to show how my point of view and my background would contribute to the diversity of Caltech, something they seem to be putting a lot of emphasis on.

@VicVes May I ask which one it is? I am also a rejected international. I got a lower end gold in IPhO last year. Itās really surprising that you get rejected even though you are an absolute winner.

@1345134134863 They reject IMO perfect scorers too sometimes, lol. Anyway, as an international, itās often somewhat a gamble. Iām an olympian too and got rejected as well xd.
